Absolutely fantastic food, very high quality stuff. Didn't look like massive portions, but I still left stuffed, so go figure. Great ales on tap too. I will be returning. Didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms.

After a break from holidaying in the Lakes, this Inn was new to us and a great find. Booked in advance, the staff were both polite and friendly. We sat in the dog friendly bar area and the place has a nice feeling. Food we both chose was very good and when next back in the lakes, we will def visit again.

One of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever had! My husband had the fish pie and said it was the best food he has had in a while. The staff are absolutely amazing - we made a reservation for 7:45pm but due to unforeseen circumstances we ended up being very late. We arrived and they were so kind and understanding and still accepted us. If I ever come back to Lake District this will be my first stop for sure 😉👌

Called in today for lunch - superb, absolutely superb. Staff were very friendly, very helpful and very knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Can recommend the beer battered haddock and the Asparagus soup. Lovely, welcoming atmosphere with great food and a large car park at the rear. Dog friendly too.

I love out of the way, in the middle of nowhere pubs and this was certainly in the middle of nowhere. The service was excellent although the staff kept asking if we were finished (as though they needed the table quickly for other people. I'm sure it wasn't that but it felt like it). Good selection of beer and soft drinks (with proper coke on draught). Food was excellent too.

Located just 15 minutes from Windermere and serving an excellent Sunday Roast worth traveling for. It was a short drive up into the hills but worth every second. They have a children’s play area out the back. I saw a number of reviews commenting on the Sunday roast so we went out of our way to try. Well, I am glad we did. Super friendly staff and great selection of beers.

The Sunday roast was worthy of being called a Sunday roast. Probably one of the best I've had in the past 3 years. Yorkshire pudding, veggies, roast, all of it was top notch

We happened across this place after a very long journey. We were hungry, it was late and it looked busy. They couldn't have been more welcoming. They found us a table immediately and the food came out so quickly. Amazing food, amazing hospitality! Thank you :)

We had dinner in the bar area which had nice character and a good vibe. The whole experience was excellent with attentive, engaging, and efficient waiting staff and the food was high quality but good value too. We’d highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate in returning.

Great traditional homely pub with rooms in secluded spot. Really lovely and friendly hard working staff....excellent food and good choice at breakfast (pancakes were amazing!) Nice to have fresh fruit too. Our room had garden view and small terrace area which we loved. Room was clean with adequately sized bathroom. Winster is well placed for visiting the Lakes too and staff on hand will advise on best places to visit.
