We stayed in a lovely cottage in Winster, and decided to try out the local. The service was spot on and the food was really nice. My teenage son loves a massive burger and he wasn't disappointed. Highly recommend the buffalo burger, fish was tasty too.
Camped here in October for two nights. Tent area is slipped (damn you Peak District), and was soft underfoot due to recent heavy rainfall.
Bar food and drinks were excellent, along with two fires to warm up frozen campers.
We managed to park our motorbikes inside the locked gate on a gravel area (grass too soft for this late in the year).
Great place to base your visit to the Peaks.
Recommended.
The pub itself is quaint and the customers and staff are so lovely.. the downside was our Sunday lunch.. dried up, Luke warm. Hard vegetables, flat Yorkshire pudding and not very nice, we were really disappointed after hearing lovely reviews.
For £16 for Sunday lunch we expected a lot more. Gravy was nice!!
Stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights over the Bank Holiday weekend. This is a really popular pub and camp site but you can see why. The food was excellent, we ordered as a very large table and everything came out in good time, together and hot - every meal looked delicious and home made. The staff were brilliant, honestly some of the nicest people, they work long days but are so friendly to everyone who came through the door. Would highly recommend. You can only book the rooms by calling up so they are a bit of a hidden gem!
Great find. Sunday roast was exceptional. Staff were spot on. The barmaid had the patience of a saint putting up with my dog! Even met David icke in here. Great experience 🫡

We visited the Miners Standard for a friends wedding anniversary, it’s a lovely pub and it has a camping field with showers and toilets which is super convenient if you want to stop over also rooms in the pub too, the bar area is nice, facilities are good, the car park is a reasonable size! We had a great night the atmosphere was great, the drinks and food were great and the staff were very friendly and very accommodating where nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely visit again
Proper old pub, best in the village by miles (although an uphill walk but well worth it). Good selection of real ales , craft beers and lagers. Food excellent and service. Campsite at the back for £7 per person per night as well but check the season times. If in Winster this is where to go for your pub!

Very cute pub. The lunch menu was different from the dinner menu (a concern for us with selective eaters in the family, so pizzas aren't served until dinner!) but there were some solid vegetarian options and the service was excellent. Very friendly and very quaint! Definitely recommend
Great little site at the back of a wonderful Derbyshire pub. Sloping grass so you need your leveling ramps for a campervan. Only £5 per night. Very close to the Pennine Way so great for walkers, with the knowledge of a pub meal on your return. A lovely site for just chilling too. Good 4G signal on EE. Dog friendly.
A lovely country pub and well worth a visit if you’re in the area. Serves food all day unlike a lot of the surrounding pubs. The barman was welcoming and chatty and the food was great value. My husband had the cheese and potato pie and said it was the best pie he had, and he’s tried a few.
