Went last night and I can't wait to go again. Everything was beautifully presented. Sparkling glasses, a carafe of infused water, a stunning sharing platter. Loved it. The only downside was that my companion wanted a glass of Shiraz. This wasn't possible so our waiter recommended a blend . Sadly she found it undrinkable - nothing wrong with the wine ( I finished it for her) but it was heavily oaked rather than light and fruity which was her preference. It won't stop us coming again.
Cheeky wine after work with my daughter who was meeting friends later we were welcomed and taken to our pre booked table by friendly attentive staff who explained all our menu options we ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz perfect !
We ordered the meat / cheese sharing platter with olives so good !!! Can't fault it definitely recommend it loved the attention to detail with the decor it's kept the old with the new .. well done Andy / James
Always have a lovely time here. Service and atmosphere is great. Fab selection of wines. Had a rather delicious expresso martini last time I visited. Love the baked camembert too!

Great bar. Tasty food, top cocktails, decent prices. Friendly service too - the star of the show was Amy, the kind of engaging waitress that makes you happy to stay in a place until it's time to go home.
I'd give this place six stars if I could. Fifty Six is Berkshire's best-kept secret, with its unassuming facade and quiet sophistication a big part of its charm. On top of its excellent food, drinks, and atmosphere, the service during my visit was outstanding. Amy in particular was very good-humoured and attentive. Looking forward to my next visit!
We love this place. We had been to a restaurant in town and rang up on the off chance at 10.30pm to see if they had a table. They did and we stayed until closing. Great wine menu, love The Guvnor red, delicious! Lovely, friendly, accommodating staff, relaxed atmosphere, good music, pretty outside area, tasty food. What's not to like?
Great place, lovely wine, with big balloon wine glasses, which you don't usually find in pubs. The food was great, , cheese board, meats, breads. Great evening. Just remember you only have a table reserved for 2 hours, we had to be moved into the bar as wine was still flowing but the table time had run out. They did accommodate us so no big deal. Would highly recommend Bar Fifty Six
Such a wonderful time had at 50th birthday party at Bar Fifty Six. The team could not of been more accommodating and attentive. It was made so special. What wonderful staff and lovely venue.
The service was fantastic. Polite, professional and engaging. The food was wonderful (we had two sharing platters that were delicious!) and, naturally, the beer was great! I highly recommend Fifty Six!
I like it here because its got a nice intimate atmosphere and whenever I have been the drinks and food have been very good. You book your table so social distancing is easy and the staff are helpful and accommodating. Last time a I went I shared the baked Camembert which is baked with garlic and rosemary and is served with crusty brown and white bread. It was delicious. We also had the large sharing platter which had houmous, crudités, Olives, flat breads and cured meats. Also delicious. If you like red wine I highly recommend trying the Romanian pint noir on the menu, it was very moreish. I definitely recommend it.
Really good atmosphere and great drinks. I used to hate gin, now I love it thanks to their interesting way of making a G&T with slices of passion fruit and peppercorns. Definitely a good place for a good drink. Pricey but worth it.
