This lovely little pub is a great place for food and a quite drink. The staff are all friendly and welcome you with a lovely smile and chat. It's got a good history on the building, which is built on the building. The Sunday carvery is absolutely outstanding 👏. Real quality locally sourced food and plenty.
Me and my husband can not wait to go back. 5 🌟 in my eyes all day long.

Five stars for this lovely old pub, with lovely staff, and a Sunday lunch to die for!!! Portion size above and beyond what you expect! Puddings we're lovely too, and the prices were really competitive, well worth a visit!

Really good food, served cheerfully. They have a good but limited pre-evening menu, reasonably priced, which is the type of meal I went for.

Went to the Anvil Arms for Sunday Lunch, it is so popular there are two sittings. Sheila the landlady is also the chef. The food is always superb and there is a good selection beers, wines and spirits behind the bar. You need to ring and book on Sunday's.

Our second visit to this lovely pub.
The warm welcome and excellent home cooked food was as exceptional as last time. Monday nights home cooked ham and home made pies are great!
The Sunday lunch we had on our last visit was brilliant
. Plenty of local meat and 7 different veg!
The staff are kind and bend over backwards to help. The pub is pristine.
Thank you. We will be back for sure.
I have mentioned you in my guest book.

We have been going to the Anvil for many years and we highly rate this venue, hence the five star rating. The food and service is outstanding. Excellent choice of menu particularly for Sunday lunch. Choice of meats, and includes seven vegetables and two potatoes. Not forgetting the Yorkshire Pudding. Staff are very efficient and friendly and the food is very reasonably priced offering excellent value. The two course special on Monday is not to be missed along with the Burger and a Pint on a Friday . Home cooking at it’s best and we would definitely recommend you give it a try.

Great venue I booked for a family (15) Christmas meal last year and was top notch. Took my mother there for Mother’s Day and they gave her a nice little present. Would highly recommend to anyone hopefully get in again this year for another family Christmas meal.
Really pleasant and helpful staff.
