Service was a bit slow, surely they just grab a fish out of the fryer? 20 minutes to get served. However it was worth the wait. The fish was top. Light crispy batter, not greasy, and the fish inside was tasty and perfectly cooked. Chips were good but not the best I've ever had. Overall, well worth a visit.
Firstly the location and view is perfect, as we sat chatting before our meal arrived we had a lovely view of the broads from our door step to our horizon. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they went out of their way to accommodate my mum and engaged with my children! The food was great, fish was cooked perfectly and the price is good value for money and not too expensive as some have said, cheaper and far superior to some chain restaurants!! I will always recommend this restaurant. My mum suggested eating there today as she told me a story how she met Ken on a beach in Borneo! Please don't hesitate to try it out.
Good, personable service and good fish and chips!
If you haven't tried Ken's yet then I recommend it, I got a small cod and chips, a battered sausage and curry sauce, and I have to say I enjoyed it all. Service was friendly and helpful, I can't fault them.
As a side note, I was really pleased that they have cans of cream soda 😅 and lots more classic soft drinks too.
I'll be returning soon for sure.
My husband had the Gluten free cod and chips. The G/F batter on the cod was really light and crunchy, I would say it was better then the standard batter I had on my non G/F cod, but still good on both types. Good service and very swift. We sat in the restaurant at the rear as the main shop at the front was very busy.
We had three pensioner specials. The fish was lovely, perfectly cooked, the tea was strong, service excellent. The price was £13.95, that may seem expensive, however tea and buttered bread has to be £3 so £11 for sit down fish and chips is a reasonable price. The two young staff members were polite and efficient.
One minute I was the sole customer the next there were a dozen more. Very popular fish and chip shop. Battered sausage, chips twice with a pot of curry and a pot of mushy peas just over £11. Chips looked undercooked but were infact spot on. Curry and peas were fine. Although we felt as though the sausages had been sat in the hot plate a while. Tasted fine.
Kens Fish and Chips are delicious. Always fresh and great sized portions. Always freshly cooked upon order when we have been. Cannot fault. Whenever we are in the area, Ken's Fish and Chips invariably enter the conversation very early on in discussions about food!🤣 Thank you.
For a small little chip shop the Gluten Free selection is great!!
A beautiful piece of fish covered in a light crispy batter cooked to perfection with a generous pile of chips. All freshly cooked to order.
Really enjoyed cod and chips mushy peas and tea for two, couldn't fault it, service could be improved, very polite but forgot a couple of things, decor needs a coat of paint, outside patio needs a jet wash and some pretty lights would make all the difference.
Very good fish and chips, can get very busy! Reasonably priced. You will need to park around the corner or in Roy's car park.
Decided to have a fish and chips lunch. A small queue before being served. Went for cod and chips. It was very well cooked but, for the size of portion, a bit more expensive (£10.75) than I would have liked but the taste did compensate for that.
One of, if not the best place in Norfolk to get your Fish & Chips cooked the traditional way! Absolutely delicious food, all cooked fresh by friendly and chatty staff who always leave a good and lasting impression. I’ve very much enjoyed every meal I’ve had at Ken’s, it’s also a really nice sight to to see staff and owner have so much passion for their line of work.
See you soon everyone.
