From the moment we arrived we were amazed at the place. The hospitality was second to none. We arrived way before the nominated check in and were immediately shown to our room. The room was spotlessly clean, large and well appointed. Plenty of tea/coffee, large fluffy towels and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve every slept in. Our every need was thought of. The pub was brilliant - a huge selection of beers and for the gin lover a great number of different flavours for you to try (including homemade damson and sloe gin). A roaring log fire and super friendly locals all added to the experience. Our breakfast was delicious: fruit, yogurt, cereals, juices, copious amounts of tea and coffee, toast and a full English (all locally sourced ingredients). The hosts could not have been more accommodating, always ensuring that we had everything we needed. Never too busy for a chat or to offer recommendations of places to go or to eat. Dining in was a joy too. Not a massive menu, but the chef always willing to accommodate special requests or fancies. Served to your table in front of the fire - perfect. Last but not least the resident dogs were on hand for a fuss (as were many others in this super dog-friendly place) Thank you for our perfect stay. We will definitely be returning!!!

Lovely pub and hotel, beautiful beer garden with a closing gate that you can use to pen the kids in with, including kiddie tables. Because we were staying the hotel called up to see if we needed a table holding for the evening - good thing they did as the place was very busy with diners in the evening. Lovely menu, fresh game on while we were there. Our baby monitor (nothing fancy) worked from the room to the restaurant and bar area. The cot provided was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. All round a very pleasant stay - will be returning!

A wonderful UK village experience in a great location. Everything was great, from the staff professionalism and friendliness, location and setting, internal layout of bar, restaurant and relaxing lounge area, to the superb menu and dinner and full breakfast. Would definitely stay here again (from Australia)

How do I give this lovely place the exceptional review it deserves without making it more difficult to get a table in the future. From the friendly and helpful staff for whom nothing was to much trouble, the superb food which was cooked to perfection and very well presented, to the variety of well kept beverages that were on offer. All at reasonable prices for the quality and atmosphere. Recommended to us by my sister for an anniversary lunch. Will certainly return on a regular basis.

Very popular largely due to the excellent service and atmosphere. Not eaten other than the fantastic value Pizza but the drinks are spot on and served cold if required.

A very charming village pub with a great atmosphere. Large beer garden for those summer days or a cosy area in the pub with comfortable sofas.

We just had our works Christmas Lunch at The Helyar Arms today. What a beautiful pub. All the staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful. The food was lovely and hot and very tasty. The menu had so much choice, everyone found something they liked. They wasn't disappointed either. We will definitely eat here again. I might bring the family next time 😁
