I really miss home and I found myself transported to the Philippines through my taste buds. I got the Tapsilog and my partner had the Sizzling Sisig. Oh. Em. Gee. The authentic flavors that I so miss were captured by Chef Cho Salgado (clap! clap!). It's an hour away from where I live but I am already making plans for my next visit!
This place has a karaoke bar (Brilliant!) because we Filipinos have the passion for singing whether the song agrees with us or not. Chef can also whip up a boodle fight if that's what you fancy.
It doesn't end there because PETS ARE ALLOWED!
This place is definitely worth a trip!

This is the second Filipino restaurant I have visited in the UK. I visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
I enjoy cooking Filipino cuisine, which is atypical for a Caucasian male, and I get great feedback. "Tastes of home" and so on. The first restaurant I visited was in London and was very disappointing - I can cook better myself, and the Kare Kare was like soup. So I was interested to try this one.
I was not disappointed! Wow. The food was fresh, tasty, rich and well presented. And good value for money. It's restored my enthusiasm for trying more.
Although Kare Kare was not on the menu the chef said it was available. I'd like to come back and try that to compare with my own. My main dish was Sizzling Sissig (Ceviche Style).
As I said it was a quiet Sunday afternoon - with no other customers in the restaurant. The chef was the only person there. Which made the service very personal. It was good to chat about cooking, history of the restaurant and so on.
I tried the Ube Halaya and it was so good I had to take a couple of cartons home to freeze and eat later.
BTW it's a dog-friendly restaurant if you have a dog.
Will definitely be back!

Being Filipino and growing up in the countryside within the UK, it was basically impossible to find Filipinos - let alone Filipino food. But fortunately due to more Filipinos migrating around the country, now even small areas like Yeovil have restaurants that provide Filipino food.
The food here is beautifully made and fresh. When I ate here, it for sure invoked a feeling of nostalgia and home. Growing up in the West, I did not have the opportunity to learn how to make Filipino food and the wide variety of dishes. Having a restaurant like this one makes me so happy and proud, whilst also feeling like I'm at home.
The owner is a lovely person, kind and cheerful. Definitely greet the guy! Also support local businesses, especially people of coloured owned!!

Ash absolutely brilliant evening. The boodle fight was excellent but we couldn't do it justice. Felt guilty that we'd left so much food. The chef is a top top guy. The karaoke was a good laugh. Can highly recommend.

Craving for Filipino Food in southern side of UK. Dine and have a sing along at the OX. The only Filipino Restaurant in the town of yeovil. Their servings is more than enough to make you full for a meal. The taste of their cuisines is just right and the place is so humble and neat. They also do for take outs and delivery 😊

Ate twice here in a week! Absolutely fantastic! Very friendly host and the food was very tasty. Homemade spring rolls that really make a difference (meat and veggie 😉) and the ramen was just what I needed. Introduced to Filipino spaghetti and again didn't disappoint.
Will be back next time I'm in Yeovil! Thanks.

Last night my family and I tried out the new Philippine restaurant and had a great evening. The main meals were all really tasty and very cheap!
After our meal we all moved down the restaurant and go on board with the karaoke system. Fun lighting and smoke made the whole experience very enjoyable.
Perfect place for a cheap tasty meal and a laugh with friends and family.
