Lovely place. The staff were incredibly helpful & did not rush us even though we were taking our time! It was an new menu but the waitress made sure she knew all the info on how the food was served & cooked & what it came with.
I had the salmon which came with new potatoes & a creamy sauce. It was cooked beautifully! XXX

Came for a whisky tasting event, had some food beforehand. Amazing classic pub food to choose from, not a huge menu which helps when making a choice. The staff are very friendly and helpful with their advice! We will be coming again when we're next in York.

Amazing food here. Both of our dishes were delicious. Friendly service with a nice drink selection. Would come here again for sure. Highly recommended by locals.

Great menu, great staff, great service. And it's dog friendly which is always good to see. Staff wise, there was one particular waitress (I didn't catch her name) who was constantly smiling and looked genuinely chuffed to be there :) Which is always a good sign!

Spotless! I mean really spotless, like so spotless I would eat my dropped crisp off the floor. Food looked spectacular, quite fancy for the price unfortunately we'd already eaten so on this occasion we didn't get to try it. The clientel was getting on a bit when we were there, not sure if that's the norm. (Mid afternoon) A really good pint tho. Worth a return trip to try the food.
