Called in on the way from the races never been before. What a lovely meal and great staff. So friendly and welcoming thank you.
Ordered a takeaway late one Friday night. It arrived minus a side dish, but as it was late I didn't call them to ask for it. Left a middling review on Just Eat, saying food was very good but there were missing items. These guys read that and came back unannounced the following night, with the missing dish and some rice to go with it. In short, they really care about their reputation and customer service as well as producing good food
Back again 10/09/23 and again a very good Jalfrazi and another solid 5.
A solid 5. The Jalfrazi was tasty and on the warm side ! I had Chicken Jalfrazi, lots of chicken and chilli. The gravy was thick and had a rich tomato taste. I had the Jorvik House rice which is egg and peas, lots of egg unlike other restaurants. I had a Keema nan and instead of a lump of meat, the meat was evenly spread out across the whole nan which was light and fresh. COBRA beer on draft and £4.50 a pint, the Jalfrazi was £9.95, the rice was £3.50 and the nan was £3.20. I'm an out of town visitor and this place was opposite my Hotel Ibis Centre. All in all i couldn't find anything to fault them. When I'm in York next I'll visit again. I dined on a Monday night. 👍
A quiet night . The food was exceptional well presented and very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant was small but very clean and tidy. Menu varied with some popular classics as well. Definitely worth a visit. You won't be disappointed .
A top drawer experience in a neat little local place. Food ad service much better than initial appearances might suggest. It was so good we came back again the following night.
A good range of Indian staples as well as wide selection of House and Chef Specials. Fabulously thin poppadoms on first night.
The food was really tasty, staff friendly and attentive and the restaurant was clean. It was super busy with takeaway orders which shows the mark of quality. Highly recommend.
Good was amazing, very tasty would definitely recommend. The restaurant just lacked atmosphere as we were the only people in at the time. The speaker phone for takeaways shouting you have a new order every minute is a bit monotonous.
A good little restaurant. All the classic dishes on the menu. The Chef's specials were an interesting combination of things and very nice. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall costs were decent.
Ordered a take out from here as it was just down the road from my hotel, I took a chance on the mutton staff curry and OMG what a flavour sensation! Sadly I live in South Wales so won't be able to get delivery very easily ☹️. Sorry I couldn't add photos of the food but I ate it all but I did photo the empty pots and left over bones. 😎
Really good quality and choice of food. Service quick. Reasonably priced. Booked a table in advance and happy to accommodate us.
Me and my husband visited here for a meal this evening, everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were really attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Very nice food for good prices . We will be back. Thankyou
