This is one of two spring espressos in York this one is in lendal, the other is in fossgate about 10 minutes walk away. I paid a visit on the 25th September 2025. Ive wanted to come here for a long time (since 2012) and it did not disappoint. the coffee and cake were excellent.
Five stars all around. Attentive and lovely staff and wonderful food. Got the mozzarella, pesto and tomato sandwich and it tasted amazing! The atmosphere was fantastic, with clean tables, good lighting and even a clean bathroom!

The staff were really nice and the coffee is good but the food was awful. I ordered the potato hash and it didn’t resemble hash at all, just soggy potatoes with sweetcorn, which I wish I had sent back. Unbelievable for £13.50! My wife ordered avocado which wasn’t ripe at all and had to be sent back.
