Nice little local pub. We did make the mistake of visiting on bingo night so had to be quiet! But once that was over we enjoyed our night. Really reasonable prices and friendly staff.

Had two night going into here as BnB was close and first night had a good game of bingo cards had good night 2nd night bit more chilled watch sport on many screens , good prices for beer loads cheaper than center of York and not to far

Was staying over for the rugby in a hotel near by went here and such a great place full of locals enjoying themselves good staff decent prices something on most of the time sky sports a great find

My wife and myself have been in the pub and food &B business for over 40 years ,now retired.
Pound for pound this is the cleanest and best value pub in this district.
Well done to the landlady and staff,a credit to hard work and respect for the customers you serve, sensible music at a good volume level.
Well worth a visit.

We went there last night 16.12.2022 as our concert with Emma Buntin at the Barbican was cancelled. As it was near our guesthouse. We had a great time as they was a open mic night. Some very talented people sang there. The guy who runs the open mic night is called: Anthony Rivers Thompson was very nice to chat too and makes sure everyone has a great night. The bar staff was extremely accommodating. OK its not a posh place and not for everyone. But if you enjoy a laugh, cheap booze but a good pint. A laugh and a friendly atmosphere then this is the place for you.

This is a great pub. The building is large and spacious. There are several drinks on draft. Personally, I went for a berry cider, which was from the bottle, nice and cold and tasted great. There are some really nice new wooden tables and seating outside. The staff were attentive and helpful to myself and other customers. I would come back if I was in the area again.
