Sat outside for lunch here after speaking to the cook inside the restaurant who was very friendly.
The food itself is well worth the money and both myself and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed it. Had lovely views of the river too, perfect for a sunny afternoon.
Everything tasted amazing! I could of ordered the whole menu. Portions leave you stuffed which was just right when hungry. Ended up taking some home as it was way too nice to leave any leftovers.
Went with work for our night out and my gosh they did not disappoint - definitely had to go for their special. Cannot wait to go back and take my girlfriend

The Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner (chicken and waffles) was amazing. Served in a large shallow bowl, a small mountain of Maryland-batter fried chicken tenders rested upon perfectly cooked and delicious waffle quarters drizzled in 100% Canadian maple syrup. The whole thing was topped with 4 strips of crispy bacon. The chicken batter is homemade and has a very wonderful blend of spices. The chicken was fried to perfection: tons of flavor, just the right amount of crunch/crispness, and no visible grease. If memory serves correctly (I ate the dish extremely quickly; it was just too good), there were 4-5 large, thick and juicy chicken tenders and three waffles (pre cut into quarters).
My wife ordered a roast chicken with a salad and mac and cheese. The roast chicken was deliciously moist with a beautifully browned skin and just the right amount of seasoning.
The founder and co-owner, Mikey, was running the front of the house and was also our waiter/server for the evening. He was incredibly warm, friendly, and hospitable. Food is definitely a passion for him, and it showed in his menu as well as his service.
The location is very convenient to the city center, and it overlooks the River Ouse, which makes for some nice views. Although we dined indoors, there was plenty of outdoor seating (in June), and many patrons were taking advantage of the nice weather to enjoy a cool beverage while taking in the scenery.
We will definitely return on our next visit to York.
Really nice food, generous portions and well priced. It's not a place you'd go for a sophisticated meal, its dark and the music isn't loud, but it's louder than you'd get in most restaurants. It's perfect for an informal meal.

Greeted by very friendly Front of House/Manager when we turned up....even moved the table to a window one for us. Food was "nomtastic"....definitely recommend the BBQ chicken folks...grilled to perfection!
In short, excellent place eat and well worth a visit 👍
Cracking food and staff were fantastic. Myself and my daughter were made to feel very welcome, as you can see Dr loved the baby back ribs.
Our favourite york restaurant. Food and service always brilliant, they even do a bowl of plain pasta as opposed to mac cheese for our fussy daughter but don't expect to leave feeling good about your waistline!
Great food here. I had a lovely burger and the chilli cheese fries were amazing. Friendly staff and great scenery too😀
