Shambles Sausage And Pie

I bought some pork pies today and as a connoisseur of pork pies (and yes I have tried 1000’s) these are the absolute top. Thin crispy flavoursome pastry, moist meat and jelly, good level of fill, perfect seasoning. Brace youself for an experience, pie meister or not. I will find away in my life to order these online

Visited your shop today in York and bought a delicious Steak and Ale Pie. Light, crispy pastry, large chunks of tender, flavoursome steak in a tasty ale gravy. Value for money, and the nicest pie I have eaten in such a long time! I Would strongly advise/recommend that everyone tries one of these. Lots of other mouthwatering options available that I haven't tried yet, but would love to. Thank you! 😊

My partner and I came here to take some goods home. We got the scotch egg, a traditional pork pie, the wild boar pie and a sausage roll. When I tell you we wish we bought the whole shop to take home... Absolutely incredible. Pies full of flavour, generous portions of meat, beautiful pastry. When we come back to York we definitely will be back here!!! I was expecting to pay higher than £9 for all of these items but to our delight it didn't! Definitely great value for money. Super friendly service too. Yum!🤤🥰

Can't quite believe what I've eaten - had to leave a review because this had to be one of the best made steak & ale pies we've ever had. Absolutely crammed with steak, to the point where I'm surprised they manage to fit the pastry over it! The steak melted in the mouth and heated brilliantly in the oven for dinner. The pastry was also super light. Hats off to them for not scrimping in this day and age. Staff were lovely and punctual and prices in no way inflated simply due to being in a tourist hot spot. Excellent value for money. The pork pie was also filled with incredibly high quality meat. A testament to the shambles, one of Britain's most historic streets that was once lined with butchers, now they're the only merchant left that relates to that history and they're paying one heck of a tribute 👏

Having worked in a butchers shop that had an adjoined bakers, and having gone to Cornwall many times, I was amazed by the 'Traditional' pasty here. The gravy was so thick and tasty, and the pastry was spot on. Best pasty I've ever had & the pork pie was up there too - definitely coming back whenever I'm in York

Needs a Michelin Star! We bought a couple of pasties and a fat toulouse sausage roll. WOW! The pasties were even better than those from St Ives, beautiful pastry, packed with flavour - can't praise them enough! And the sausage roll was totally intense!!! We went back for seconds, but had sold out, so bought a couple of the ordinary sausage rolls, and steak pies which we had back in the hotel - the pies in particular were also breath taking in their delicious steak packed wholesomeness - not a pick of grizzle, and so full of tender meat, there was hardly any room for the gravy. It would be worth going back to York, just for the grub from this little shop!
