Just stayed here for a night, can’t recommend enough. Really good location close to the minster and the shopping areas. Our twin room was huge. Got there early so couldn’t check in but they let us leave our case behind the bar while we went out. Breakfast included in the price was fab, and staff were all friendly and helpful. Place has a lovely beer garden which will be good use in warmer weather! Will return, great find.

Well situated next to the Minster. Arrived to a warm welcome from Fran who showed us to our room and shared information with us. Lovely room. Beautifully clean bedding and towels. Tea and coffee as well as 2 bottles of water and a couple of kitkats. Had a sharing platter for a late lunch which was lovely. Great beer garden with a huge gazebo so able to sit out even when there was a little rain. Good choice of beers and some great gins. Very comfortable bed, canny shower and a really good, well cooked breakfast the next morning. Fran was a star throughout and was great craic. Really good value for money. Coming back to York in November and I'm going to rebook here rather than the previous place I have reserved. Thanks to all. Clare and Mel xx

Lovely pub, really pleased its reopened. New owners are lovely, really friendly and can't do enough for you. Fantastic beer garden at the back and some great choices of lager on, particularly cruzcampo which I've never found anywhere else in york
