Partner and I took our little lad on a Saturday night, the service was great and the hot chocolate was 10/10.
They have a local source of beverages and a family friendly service.
The food menu looks great, we'll be back to try it out!

24.09.23. What a wonderful surprise to find South African food in York. The interior is rustic and the guys running the place are charming. A stones throw (5 minute walk) from the hustle and bustle of the mass chain restaurants in Central York. A great choice of tasty and freshly cooked meals which we really enjoyed. Every course and choice was individual and really flavoursome. We had a shared a shared platter to start which was good value, the corn ribs although simple were really tasty. My wife had the babyback ribs for main and they were melt in the mouth. The staff are polite, friendly and welcoming with great knowledge of each and every dish and drink. Really glad that we managed to book a table and will definitely return upon our next visit to York. Highly recommended without doubt.

Nathan and Zach are incredible hosts, and deliver superb service and delicious food. Loved hearing their stories, and having a lovely meal as well.
The loaded chips were delicious, the Oxtail was cooked beautifully and the Pork Belly was so good (we might just come back tomorrow!)

Zak & Nate were first class. We booked with two children aged 5&8. They couldn’t be more accommodating- the menu suited us all. We loved the food, the hosting & the atmosphere and will definitely be going back soon!!

Wonderful food and a great dining experience. The owners are friendly, helpful and knowledgable about their menu and sourced ingredients. Meat, vegetarian and vegan all well catered for in our group and we stayed and finished our dinner slowly, sorry to say, long after the other diners. Apologies for keeping you up.

The most authentic South African restaurant in York ! I have eaten here several times and it never disappoints. Nathan and Zach are fantastic hosts and so attentive to guests. The food is delicious, quick to arrive to the table and always impresses! As a born and bred South African, this is the closest to home you get !

Wonderful restaurant not far from train station. Slightly off normal tourist route but well worth finding. Quite a simple menu with some south African themed dishes mixed with good wholesome dishes packed with flavours. Good wine & drinks menu to compliment beautifully cooked food. Hosts were friendly & knowledgeable about their menu & the origin of spices etc our party originated from Scotland, discovered we had lived in the same area as the hosts, this was an added bonus! However the hosts chatted with every table which made for a very relaxed & friendly atmosphere. Its also good value for money!! Would thoroughly recommend!!
