Cocoa Joe's

Lovely experience for chocaholics. I tried both the hot chocolates and the iced ones and they are absolutely lovely. Worth the treat and worth every chocolate coma! And the staff are absolutely lovely, fantastic how they make you try different choc chips. They have very good cosy spaces, even though I love reading there and the music is bit too loud at times.

Why has this concept not been invented before! Choose your chocolate, then choose it's strength, choose your milk, hot or cold ,then toppings! Brilliant. Went with my favourite dark on my first visit but my husband's milk one was so nice I had that the next day then 3rd day (we were on holiday in York) we had the recommendation of the day, with honeycomb pieces. Helpful staff talk you through the options, offer tasters, by day 3 she remembered my milk of choice. Fab find, will be back there or their other branch at Pateley Bridge

We had just an amazing time getting refreshing iced chocolate drinks from Cocoa Joe's. The staff are a realm credit to the company and the brand. They were amazing and so helpful and kind. The quality of the chocolate and drinks was second to none. Also very dog friendly! I couldn't recommend it more!

I gotta rave about this place! Everything about the lil cafe was an experience. Walking in to a warm ambience and greeted with incredibly passionate staff! I loved hearing about the different chocolates from around the world and I loved being able to taste the chocolate before finally deciding the flavour. You can really tell that Joe loves everything about his work. It’s evident in how divine his hot chocolate is. It’s honestly the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Everything about it was perfect, the presentation, the toasted marshmallows and sprinkle of chocolate on the top. God, I loved it! Everyone needs to experience cocoa joes!!!!

There are lots of cafes and tea shops in York, but this one is definitely worth a visit. This is no ordinary hot chocolate. The chocolate itself is of high quality, with different varieties from different countries. There are different strengths and flavours for different palates, and different drink options. There are also milk and non dairy options. The real test is in the flavour, and it was absolutely delicious, and was not too thick or overly sweet. I prefer the slightly more bitter options, but sweeter options are also available if you have more of a sweet tooth. Would be happy to go back again.
