Cognito On The Corner

First visit with my 90yr old mum today. Love the layout. Service was excellent and staff were very attentive. Menu quite varied and a few veggie options. My mum loved the Cullen skunk and the the Brie platter was quite nice although I would suggest it would be better with a cheese selection instead of brie. My only issue is that it became so busy that the noise was distracting. We were seated below a speaker which was playing 'background music', this didn't help! This is not necessary when it is busy as it just encourages patrons to speak louder. It does nothing for the atmosphere. Will visit again but maybe when it's less busy.

My wife and I were fortunate to book a table at short notice on a Saturday night. This may have meant that I was already in a positive frame of mind before arriving, but we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and are already planning a return visit with friends. Staff were excellent. The Cullen Skink was one of the best I have had in a long time. Mains were lovely and my wife's choice of crème brûlée for dessert was excellent.

Had a delicious meal on Sunday. My husband had chicken burger and French fries. I had the bean and roasted vegetable loaf (vegetarian roast) with roasted potatoes, carrots, mashed swede, kale, tenderstem broccoli, green beans, Yorkshire pudding and red wine gravy. Oh my it was absolutely delicious. At last a place that does a vegetarian roast. We shared crème brûlée with blueberry sloe gin compote, it was very tasty. I had two cocktails, a French martini and a cosmopolitan, they were very good cocktails. This was our very first time at Milton on the Corner. It was amazing. It’s a beautiful restaurant. We will be back it was delicious. Drinks were served in beautiful crystal glasses. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.
