Kysty Ambleside

Had a wonderful meal here last Friday. Restaurant was excellent. We had a variety of starters, mains and puddings paired with the recommended wines. From the variety of amuse-bouche that were offered to us to the last mouthful of dessert the food was gorgeous and presented perfectly. I had the Pork belly starter followed by Guinea Hen breast. Will be returning next time we visit Ambleside.

Lovely restaurant that met our expectations fully. Superb service from attentive and knowledgeable staff. Muse bouche and exceptional bread enhanced the experience further. Food allergy and intolerance mean that fixed menu options are not easy for us so the benefit of 3 - 4 choices per course gives us the flexibility we need.

We received vouchers to dine here for our engagement and it was a lovely little treat. It is an A La Carte style menu with matching wine suggestions and there are plenty of options for everyone. All of the courses were beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were lovely! The only thing that didn’t wow me was the dessert and I love a good pud but overall the experience was 5*

A wonderful evening with top class food and excellent service. The staff were so helpful with food and wine choices for both one vegetarian and one meat eater. We would definitely recommend booking well in advance to anyone visiting Ambleside. Can’t wait to try the sister restaurant ‘The Stamp House’. Children on the next table, happy and content. Good atmosphere and chatty between tables. Good friendly ambience. Would recommend to all family and friends. Well deserving of our five stars.

Amazing place. Chef went out of his way to prepare vegan and gluten free options for me which were incredible, he also came out to have a chat and ask me how the food was, which I really appreciate. All the staff here were friendly and welcoming and the whole restaurant has a beautiful vibe. Some of the best food we had in the lakes.

Everything was 5 stars. It was our wedding anniversary so decided a treat was required. This exceeded our expectations. We chose to go with the wine pairing for each course and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I would definitely eat at Kysty again. We had a great night and we so well looked after by the staff. The food was truly incredible.

Beautiful meals, amazing service, lovely decor. I have been here twice now about 18months apart. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are high but in line with Ambleside as a whole. Food is fantastically presented. The amuse bouche are often some of the highlights and the bread is unbelievably good l. The balance of a casual at ease service and the quality of the food is ideal for a social meal that still feels like a treat. My only criticism is that the menu seems to have stayed largely the same for about 18months now and as it is quite small this is more noticeable. Particularly for any vegetarians as they only have one starter and main that they could have.

I think this is the best restaurant I have ever been to. We arrived a little later than booked due to an accident on the road, but the staff were so polite and happy to still accommodate us when we were expecting to be turned away. We ordered starters, mains and desserts as we wanted to try a little but of everything. We received some complimentary nibbles before our starters arrived, which was such a lovely surprise and each thing that was served to us was a delicious mouthful of flavour heaven. We were also served a little bit of bread (I think they said that it was made with beer) which was very dense, but delicious and very filling. I really want the recipe to this bread so I can make it at home! Every time a dish came out, the waiter would kindly explain each element to us. The food is beautifully presented and each element of the dish really compliments the other. Even though the portions may be classed as small by some, they are incredibly filling and you definitely leave the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area and if I am ever back, will definitely visit again. For the quality of food you receive, this place is very reasonably priced as well.

Hidden in a small alleyway away from the busy streets of Ambleside we discovered an hidden gem for culinary delight ;-) Bistro has a charming atmosphere and amazing staff providing a top notch service to guests. This was accompanied with amazing dishes that we enjoyed fully by us and our kids. Pre dinner snacks and bread were well presented and super yummy !! Venison and Fish mains were super yummy see photos. Accompanied by a good wine and local gin selection. Great evening out with delicate and well prepared food. Definitely will be visiting again in our next trip in Lake District Well done chef and team.
