Very nice girl working at the till, lovely pie (beef & ale), the gravy is top notch. A bit pricy at £17 for pie, mash, gravy & a drink. the mash was a bit heavy for my taste. Worth a visit though, the best meal we had all weekend. Iced Coffee was GORGEOUS.
Stumbled across this gem trying to find Ambleside centre. Such lovely lads inside and a cracking pie, the mash and gravy are a must, I swear, after a days walking it’s the best recovery food out there. Go do yourself a favour when in town. Wish we had one in London.
Both pies we tried from here were truly delicious. Both served on a bed of creamy mash and a gravy that in combination makes the dish as a whole one of the best we had in the UK. The additional mushy peas as a side are a must also. Good selection of beers available as well. Service was also very friendly and attentive.
Has to be the best pie I’ve ever had, with a special note to their gravy. Will certainly be back.
The best pies ever. Had 1 with peas and gravy sat in and then bought one home for tea. Amazing doesn't even cut it. Will deffo be going back.

The pies are absolutely fabulous. I'm surprised that there isn't a queue out of the door!
We just stumbled upon this little pie shop, and after eating the pies (one of each), discovered that it is the best pie shop in Britain. And now we know why. Minimalistic menus, but Excellent pies.
And if you’re lucky enough to be here when the dessert of the day is Sticky Toffee Pudding - DO NOT miss it. We’ve had sticky toffee pudding around the world, and this is up there with the best.
There are a variety of fillings to choose from for the pies. My daughter liked the steak filling with the sauce. It came with mashed potatoes
One of the best pies I've ever had. Gravy was next level and definitely order the mushy peas as a side! We finished our pies and were already discussing when we'd come back to get more. Unfortunately outdoor seating is by a busy road so not nicest place to sit - hopefully they can get a bigger indoor restaurant soon! We'd also love if they were open later than 4pm (if just for takeaway)
Best place ever for a pie, mash and gravy! The beef and ale is the best I have ever tasted, will be back again when we come to the Lakes
