What a great pub!! family and dog friendly. Nick and Shell, landlord and landlady very welcoming and very friendly, staff are great too.
Only been in a few times as new to the area but already made to feel like a regular ,which we most definitely will be.
Great choice of ales, lagers, spirits, and the food is superb... Definitely recommend the Sunday lunch, best I have had in a long time.
If you love your sport they have Sky and BT sports so you don't miss a thing.
The view from the beer garden looking over the farmers fields and church in the background is lovely. They hold events regularly, beer fests , BBQ,s and live music and bouncy castles for the kids, the Lee Vasey band was a night to remember, the morning not so good, hanging!
If it's a friendly local pub you are after this is the place! My only fault is that Nick the landlord is a Spurs fan!
Trust me, you can't go wrong here.

Went to The Garden/ Smoke house with a group of friends as we were looking forward to trying a new type of restaurant that differs so much from the typical restaurants in england. We had bambam broccoli and burnt pork ends for starters, smoked brisket and burgers for mains, and cheesecake for dessert. Everything was top-notch from the flavour to the presentation of the dishes. The meats were soft and juicy. It was delicious. You could taste how fresh the food was, and the portions were huge, extremely generous. Can't wait to go back and try the sharing plater. There was plenty of space to even bring a guitar and play outside while having some after meal drinks at the front of the restaurant. Very friendly staff. The chef is definitely an asset to the business. Keep up the good work, and congratulations on your unique restaurant. I will definitely see you soon.
Visited today and enjoyed the BBQ platter for two: fantastic ribs, brisket, wings with accompanying sides all cooked to a T. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone if they're after BBQ. Decent selection of draught beverages also.
Food was amazing, staff were super friendly, we're so happy we managed to find this gem 🥰 we will definitely visit next time we're in this area
The food was out of this world. We got stranded here due to the local area flooding and the reception and warm welcome was amazing. The highlight though was definitely the authentic American BBQ. It was stunning with so much flavour.

Had an amazing lunch with the sharing platter. Everything was cooked perfectly and had a lovely Smokey flavour. Dog friendly and really lovely staff who looked after us really well. Will definitely be back!

Service was great, really made to feel welcome. Food was tasty and generous portions. liked the Smoke house American style food options. Restaurant was spacious and did not feel hemmed in. Outside seating after for relaxing was chilled. All in all a very good experience, will return
A friendly local pub that serves hearty food and a warm welcome. I think it has recently been taken over and the pub and restaurant have been given separate areas in a refurb The bar area has what sounded like local tradesmen having a friendly pint after doing a morning’s work. The restaurant is more pukka, with families and couples enjoying their lunch.
I am mid bike ride from Cambridge to Norwich and arrived cold and hungry. I’m glad I found this place, I am now parked by the fire and am no longer wondering whether I have toes. The landlady saw me shivering and loaded it up with a big pile of wood. I had a steak pie with mash. It was much much better than I was expecting, the suet pastry was near perfect, well flavoured meat and perfectly cooked veg. Even the mash was tip top!
The outside area looks like it’ll be good in summer but honestly I was seeking the fire as soon as I saw the smoke!
This place is an absolute hidden gem. The service is great but the food is absolutely sublime! We left feeling stuffed, with a doggy bag but we loved every bite. This place should be I'm every town and city! I'm down here visiting friends but I know for sure that I'll be tempted to do the 5 hour round trip to come back here at some point! Give it a try, it's genuinely impressive.
