A friendly and secluded get away in a sleepy, picturesque village. Stayed in the converted stable block, lovely room and excellent facilities. Great menu and really relaxing venue. A little gem. Oh and 5 minutes walk from Bowes Castle for a step back in time surrounded by fantastic views of the countryside.

A wonderful conversion of an old coaching inn and stables that retains all the charm and features of the original. The staff and locals are all warm, welcoming and friendly. Food is exceptional and all locally sourced while the bar stocks a great range of beers, wines and especially spirits all very reasonably priced. Pet friendly rooms are well thought out, spotless, cosy and comfortable. A perfect base from which to explore a beautiful part of the country. A great value gem that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

Beautiful pub / hotel . Well organised with regards to covid 19 requirements. Food was great and the service was friendly and helpful. Easily accessible from the A66.
