Bistro At The Pocket

6 of us went for a family meal, there is a good selection on the Menu. Four had steaks that were cooked to perfection, one had chicken pasta and I had Beef Wellington which was delicious. The staff were very friendly and efficient, checking that everything was OK and that we had drinks. The Chef also came to check that everything was alright. Drinks prices were very reasonable, in fact, we couldn't fault anything. We will definitely be back. Thanks you.

Great dining experience. Just had a lovely Sunday roast beef dinner. Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, mash and roasted potatoes, peas mashed carrot, onion gravy and an extra side of cauliflower cheese. Large portions, plenty of beef too. The staff are friendly and fast. Place is clean and tidy. 100% recommended.

We have been told to try it for ages by friends who said it has great reviews. We tend not to follow trends or get influenced by arbitrary fads. We have now tried for ourselves with friends and I must say I was very impressed. The waiting staff was very professional and attentive, the chef was indeed genuinely concerned if we were enjoying our meals. The food was excellent, tasty and plentiful. I had the beef and it was very tender and succulent accompanied with an excellent Chimichurri. All the other guests enjoyed theirs too, very much. The wine was excellent too. Overall, a great place to try. My new favourite restaurant in Barnsley. So if my preferences can entice someone else to give it a go, great, try it for yourselves. You will not be disappointed.

Our visit was because we were given a voucher for christmas. I know the place from years ago when it was a working man's club. First appearance, the car park is small and uneven under foot. Climb a few steps and you enter the Bistro. I found it a little gem, quirky and cosy. We were shown to a table, we asked for another no problem, sat down left with menus to choose our meals, short while later came back for drinks order, choose a lovely bottle of Shiraz, reasonably priced, ordered the food, food came, chosen steaks came cooked to order, chips and onion rings homemade were excellent. The staff were excellent, we had an issue with one of the steaks, it was cooked to our liking it was just a query regarding type of steak. The chef came out with a joint of meat, and showed us how he cut the steak from the joint. Happy with the meal we paid and even left a tip.
