Interesting and quirky (well managed by Alex ex Soho House and friendly competent staff) Cotswold gastro pub, in the same ownership as the Bornsley House Spa Hotel across the road. Light bites at the bar, or well put together gastro menu at individual tables. Two cosy log fires, dog friendly, with bowls and mats for the wooden floor, the recent renovation has managed to retain a pub feel while introducing a comfortable dining experience. The retention of the concrete lintel across the bar is a design masterstroke! A small range of good beers, a few more decent French (burgundy) wines on the list would not go astray, but that is rather a personal preference.

Recently had dinner at The Boot while visiting the Cotswolds and had a great experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so cozy and the food was delicious. My wife and I split the beef wellington and it was delicious. If you are near Barnsley you should consider having a meal at The Boot!

We recently ate Sunday lunch at The Boot and I have to say that the roast pork was one of the best I’ve had in many a meal. The service was really good and will be going back to try the rest of the menu. Congratulations.

Great meal and wonderful service..Just popped in on the off chance in the hope of a bite to eat. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Maybe a few more main dishes could be added to the menu?

A quality pub/restaurant. We have eaten twice before. Can recommend the burgers!!...that the chef kindly cooked for us last minute before the kitchen closed. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I didn't stay in a room. But had the beef wellington. Amazing flavour. Perfectly cooked beef. And the boot shaped pastry cut-out to top it off was a nice touch. It was clear they take pride in the dish. The menu says it serves 2 but the portions could have served 3 adults.

Very welcoming. Staff were excellent, menu was superb and the atmosphere was fantastic on a lovely sunny Sunday. Even without a reservation they made space for us and were incredibly accommodating for our family of 4. The food was exceptional and the whole experience was just what we were looking for. Will definitely be back and recommending as the pub to go to!

What a wonderful experience! Great food & drinks and top class service from start to finish. We visited The Boot on 05 July ‘23 for lunch whilst on holiday and will definitely be returning when next in the area. Your friendly & professional staff are a credit to you; please pass on our thanks to the floor & bar staff for making our visit so enjoyable. Kind regards Louise

Stopped for lunch having heard lots about this place. Wonderful! Elevated pub food with great service. Charming place. Prices also surprisingly reasonable given the locale and standard.

Great cosy pub, fantastic staff and tasty food. Organic pale ale is a winner too, had 3 and didn’t have a headache in the morning. Suggest the fish and chips
