Visited with our 5yo son and 7yo daughter on Tuesday after having had food from the Newland Ave takeaway on many occasions. First time for the kids trying Japanese food at Sumo and they absolutely loved it - my 5yo wanted to give it 12 stars out of 10!
Portion sizes are generous (we shared as there are no kids options on the lunch menu), pricing is very reasonable and they have created a great little place to sit and eat, full of character.
Can highly recommend the katsu curry, yaki udon, chicken karaage and tempura veg.
Basically, if you already like Sumo just imagine their takeaway food cranked up to 11!
Just have a lovely Asian meal in the Sumo pan Asia, my favorite dish is the satay chicken skewers, luv the sauce! Yummy! We also order a Tom yam fried rice and pad Thai mix seafood! So delicious and not too spicy ! I'm surprisingly the fried rice is not greasy at all! I finally found a healthy restaurant in Beverley now!!
The new Sumo Pan-Asian restaurant in the Flemingate Centre is open daily for lunch and then in the evening. We decided to first try out the takeaway menu. Online ordering is quick and the service is efficient. A good selection of starters and main courses are offered. We tried Crispy Duck Bun, Sumo Spicy ribs as starters and Katsu curries and Special Wok Fried Rice.
We ordered for four but as two of us are pensioners with limited appetites, what we had, equated to three adults. The food was certainly tasty, well- presented but expensive. At nearly 48 pounds, you are looking at 16 pounds per person. Be warned that you do not get a lot. Hungry customers may well be disappointed. You can get just as good elsewhere in Beverley for considerably less.
We came to Beverley for a night out and it began here. The service was great,food excellent, atmosphere welcoming and friendly. Good selection of dishes for meat and non meat eaters alike. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend 👌
All the staff were so lovely and accommodating the atmosphere was great even on a quieter night. We ordered the sharing starter (the chicken kaarage was amazing) Thai chicken wings sweet and sour chicken and the chicken ramen. Ultimately couldn’t finish it between the 2 of us but really great value for money considering the quality. Can’t wait to try out the cocktails another night.
The food here was incredible, it was chicken fried rice I’ve ever had and the crispy duck bao bun was amazing! Great portion sizes, the waiting staff were lovely! Would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to return already

I always come on lunch time Sunday nearly 2pm (time for kitchen close) but they treated me and my son so kind. The price is reasonable.
Everything here was great, service food. Being able to see the food being prepared was a nice feature along with how quick you get your food aswell. A little pricy but definitely worth it. Would definitely eat here again
The food is average price i would say for Beverley. For what you get the freshness of the food and the portion sizes i would say its good value and if you like fresh authentic Asian dishes then its a win win. Very nice food.

Great little Japanese eaterie! Very good quality food in good portions and at a great price. Food was served promptly and was piping hot, straight out the wok! Will definitely call again when we are in Beverly next!!
