Last night of a Kings Heath institution. Sorry to see Stan and team retire. Hope new owners are just as successful.

Really enjoyed this place. Nowhere is ever as good as my local but this is one of the best I’ve found otherwise Thought the meal of plain noodle won ton rice rice chicken black bean crispy chilli chicken and free crackers was great at £34. Staff were amazing, so old School.

Good value, friendly and decent menu. No delivery so it’s eat-in or collection only.

Couldn't fault it! First time trying Rainbow Restaurant, ordered online for collection and food was ready within 30 minutes. We got: Chicken chow mein; 1/4 duck with pancakes; Kung po chicken; Deep fried seaweed; and Prawn crackers. Food was incredibly tasty and portions were sizeable and good for the price point. When we went to collect the restaurant was full with people waiting for a table - which is always a good sign. Will definitely be returning!

I came here with my kid brother(10 y/o) somewhere last year, he's been talking great about the restaurant till now😅 Great place to eat, with a very neat environment. I loved their food and its pricing was moderate for food of such great quality. I'm leaving a 5 star here on behalf of my brother. Definitely revisiting soon!

Really good food, would definitely recommend! First time visiting this restaurant as we were on the way from a long and tiring day. Ordered in advance to collect the food and was greeted really well on the telephone, the order was repeated back to us and it was clear how long the food would take. Arrived at the restaurant a little early but were made really welcome while our food was being prepared. Got home and the food was absolutely delicious! It was piping hot, tasty and clearly made to order as everything seemed so fresh! Yum! The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the price. I did expect to pay a little less than £16 for 2 meals but that's just personal preference. Cannot fault this restaurant otherwise! Enjoy!

Visited tonight with 4 adults and 3 children. Food was great and staff were very friendly and helpful when picking dishes for the children. We did not have to wait long for our food which came out nice and hot and was reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning.

The Rainbow has been a mainstay of King's Heath's High Street for decades, and it is easy to see why, this family run restaurant always comes with a welcoming smile. Don't let the cheesy decor and music fool you though, the food here is amazing! I'm a regular here and I've had a fair few options from the menu, pictured here is our starters of bbq spare ribs and Mongolian lamb yuk sung, followed by mains of lemon chicken, crispy shredded beef in szechuan sauce and beef fried rice. The portions are large, the food is hot and every bite is delicious. They offer chopsticks but standard cutlery is avaliable if needed. My top tip is to use the ample bbq sauce from the ribs to pour on your other food, it is so so tasty! They cater for small or large groups, and its great for a birthday meal with friends & family as well as a romantic meal for 2. They vary on how busy they are so it's always best to ring ahead, takeaway is avaliable as well and is just as awesome. The menu is highly varied, and even has a kid's section! The service is always fantastic and quick, and the staff are very friendly. The bill even comes with some chocolate! There are 2 decent sized pay and display car parks right outside, and they are both fairly cheap, and the restaurant is easily accessible for public transport, being directly on the number 50 bus route. 10/10 would reccommend.
