Discovered Locanta by chance after making an impromptu visit to jewellery quarter . Felt like an intimate family run place with some more intetesting choices on the menu . I went for the Lobster ravioli to which the lovely waiter / maitre d added some fresh prawns - it was absolutely delicious and my friend went for a lovely fritto misto . Would definitely go back if in the area again
The food here is some of the best I've ever had! Try the veggie sharer plate! Just amazing! Service fantastic too!
First time visiting for a special dinner with hubby. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was first class and you could tell they take pride in serving you well. We were even given a complimentary dessert. Felt really special, thank you. Chicken was halal so it was lovely to experience authentic Italian for us.
great atmosphere, amazing food, and lovely host! really enjoyed our meal, will definitely return.
Must visit if you’re in Birmingham. This was a cute Italian place which is a little walk from city centre (approx 8mins), but definitely worth visiting. Had a nice atmosphere, staff were friendly and attentive. The food portions were very generous. Great place if you’re looking for a good Italian.
Great restaurant, food taste delicious and rich in flavour. Service is superb always willing to go an extra mile. Although there are other Italian restaurants close by, that one is definitely the best by far. Tutti Bene!
Great family run restaurant, service was brilliant so thank you Matt for looking after us, his knowledge of the menu and recommendations was valuable.
Food portions very good and all cooked perfectly.
Nice home-made food
Probably a bit more expensive than it should be, since it’s not mind blowing either
But definitely recommended specially for lunch
They have a baby platter, that even if my baby would eat any of the other dishes is a nice touch
The lentil salad, the dish I was expecting the least of, was by far the best
The eggplant milanesa was very good, but the side (pasta with tomato) was a bit too simple and mhe
The cheese with figs and tomatoes was very good: simple, yet top quality ingredients and seasoning
Lovely rustic Italian food. Generous portions. Best surf & turf we're had in Birmingham. Run by nice friendly owners.
Brilliant authentic Italian restaurant..the starters, main and dessert was all amazing and delicious...I'd definitely recommend and definitely coming back...the live music👌👌👌it made the evening perfect.
Little Italian restaurant with a great location next to St Paul Square at just a few mins away from the busy City Centre.
As an Italian I can say the food tastes authentic, furthermore the portions are good sizes and well presented.
The menu also presents plenty of Gluten Free and Vegan options and as stated by the owner, the recipes are completely customizable to meet dietary requirements and taste preferences.
The atmosphere is lovely with the soft light, making it a perfect romantic dinner experience if you would.
The price is fair considering all the above.
100% recommended, I have been there three times and I definitely will come back!
Went for my lovely friend Maus birthday. We were very well looked after by Eric and his staff. Lovely food and drink. The ambiance of 🇮🇹 Italy was great. You didn't feel as if you were in Birmingham. Will definately visit again
