Bugis Street Brasserie

Fab meal in this restaurant last night... was a Saturday night and yes we were the only ones in it... so we received very good service from the staff working here... the food was fab.. ordered a malaysian/Chinese set menu for two... more than enough.. competitively priced.. would definitely recommend.

The food is really good but the poor service caused the lower ratings. Malaysian/Singaporean food here is quite authentic. I came because I recently got hold of a Tastecard which gives me 50% off the mains. Even though the website doesn't state that booking in advance is compulsory, it is for them. If they see this review, maybe they should notify tastecard to update the website. Anyway, they were kind enough to let us off. The food portions were quite small, but with the discount, it was worth it since it tasted very delicious and authentic. I wonder if the portions are bigger if you don't use a tastecard. The low rating is because service here is not very good. The first time I came, there was no other customers, so food came fast. A Romanian waitress (I think) was very nice, but by 9 +, this Asian man stands by our table shouting at another waitress 'you can finally start cleaning up once the customers leaves '. Very subtle way of telling us to get out. 😡 quite rude really. They're supposed to close at 10.30 I think?! The second time I came I brought colleagues and they too were surprised by the slow and rude service by *some* of the staff. It's a good thing that there is the discount and the good food, or else I wouldn't come back. They also run a 25% off mains at certain times (see attached picture).
