100% worth every penny. A must for anyone who loves a fab flavour filled food experience My Photos don't do the food justice (and i may have got too excited and started eating before photos) . The flavours are out of this world. Everything complements everything from start to finish. The staff are all so lovely and knowledgeable about the menu. It's not heavy food. We came out feeling full but not over stuffed.( Looking forward to going back and seeing some of our top women athletes on the walls ☺️. )
The best Indian I have been to in the UK, especially in Birmingham and a lot better value.
3 courses + drink and tea at the end is around £30 per head.
Service is friendly and welcoming, very knowledgeable about all dishes. Whichever dishes the owner recommends try as they're all very good.
My favourite dishes are the chicken mekani, lamb chops, king prawn curry and more, don't remember all the names. Also, the garlic naan is the best I've had.
All my friends and family love the place and have been very happy to introduce Indian cafe racer to everyone.
Absolutely superb food. In the back room of an iconic Birmingham pub. Excellent, authentic South East Indian cuisine, by a talented chef and enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Decided to check it out
Drove all the way from Solihull. Found parking in road leading to Bham Hippodrome . Sunday early evening. We were first in
It slowly started filling up.
Indian street food. Small plates
Fresh home cooking
Owner very particular about one’s happiness and taste sensation.
I am an Indian from Mumbai
The street food was spot on.
The curries were good quality , just like my mother would have cooked them
The Roti was to die for. The plain Naan was good.
We ended with delicious malai and mango kulfis
Why don’t Indian restaurants do this anymore
Lovely ambience
Lots of great photos
Very clean toilets
Disabled toilet

Absolute Gem of a place, great attentive staff who make you feel welcome. Food to Die for!! Special shout out to the Spicy Lamb Chops they are epic 😋
Finally visited here. First tip is to get here after 7pm as parking is easier and free literally outside the restaurant. It is hidden at present being at the back of the Wellington Hotel behind a black curtain. The service is friendly, enthusiastic and efficient. The food is glorious! possibly some of the best in Birmingham, fresh and flavoursome. Hopefully thos restaurant won't stay hidden in the future but yes I will definitely go back 👍✨️👍
Innovative, incredibly tasty, carefully crafted meals. The service was excellent, with our host taking time out to walk us through the menu in great detail, which helped with any confusion over tastes and portions.
We had a great meal and plan to return soon!
Given the rave reviews I had to see what the fuss was all about for myself.
It is located slightly out of town, in the back of the Wellington Pub on the corner of Bromsgrove Street and Bristol Street. Parking can be an issue at times but it's free after 6.00pm around the area.
There is a hotel and bar connected with the pub but it has its own dining room and shares the bar. Starting there, they have a large choice of drinks, I really enjoyed my Sharp's Atlantic and the wife her Prosecco Rose.
There was a bit of noise possibly coming out from the building works next door but fortunately it stopped just before I was thinking that it was too intrusive.
I am really pleased we did, the service couldn't have been better and I do urge all to ask the waiter for a bit more information on the dishes. It's an Indian restaurant and typically the chef will do it his way rather than the more usual and a bit more generic Bangladeshi approach.
The dining room is very pleasantly decorated, it's a bit eclectic and comes with an iconic Indian centrepiece.
We had a great meal, the chicken in both was superb. Oddly if there was anything that could have been better then I suggest it was the poppadoms and the naan but I am being picky.
All was so nice that we also splashed out on kulfi and ras malai desserts which were very good and cheaper than many places.
Overall a very enjoyable night and well worth checking out.
Me and my friend had an amazing afternoon at this wonderful restaurant. As we arrived owner and staff were extremely nice, welcoming and very helpful when it comes to understanding and explaining the menu. The decoration and music were also very nice as it helped creating a nice atmosphere and environment.
Overall we really enjoyed the food as it was crearly cooked with passion as the presentation was very good and the flavours also were quite amazing.
I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to try Indian street food or looking for something new.
This place will not disappoint! You could easily walk past and miss it but inside its a real jem. The food was amazing!
