This was my first visit to this fast food takeaway. The service was excellent and all the food (chips, cod in batter and sausage in batter) were cooked fresh to order. The batter was light and crispy and the chips were of a generous portion and well seasoned. Overall this was great service and food. Some of the other takeaways in Bourton on the water could learn a thing or two around availability and service.
Stayed in Stow on Wold during August 2020, and we went for dinner at this fish and chip place on our first night in the area. Lots of restaurants had closed early or had no bookings at the time. We found this place where the staff were really friendly, and their menu was both gluten and halal friendly which was a bonus. Portions were great, and value for money - can't go wrong with a fish and chips at this place. Would have no problem is recommending this place and would visit again.
It was nice and fresh! The chips were cooked to order so they were crispy and hot as they should be. There was no lady there that I can remember but a young man who was pleasant, professional, and helpful. Looking at the reviews it may be that they hired him as enough of you have complained of 'The Lady Who Does Not Smile' Also, we took our food away so we were not aware they were charging for people to sit in per person, which sounds crazy to me and quite greedy really... Either way the food was tasty and served a purpose!
A small family run restaurant serving fish and chips and burgers. I had a veggie burger which was very good. Excellent prices and it was great they also had beers and ciders in the fridge. Very friendly and polite staff, what more could you ask for.
Really nice Haddock and chips all cooked in a separate fryer . Only complaint I had was far too many chips , but hey.
Just finished my small fish, regular chips and gravy. I'm staying literally a few doors away. End of day, half 7pm, people waiting before I got there still hadn't had their order when I was leaving, maybe they had a big order, I'm not sure? .... (my wait near 10mins), was a steady flow of people in... Waiting .
Waiting..... Then leaving.
Food is cooked to order, so it was only right to wait, I'd prefer fresh anyway, but just be prepared to wait patiently :)
Cor Blimey, the wait was definitely worth it! Very tasty and hot! Just enough, I couldn't have eaten any more! My other half was trying to pinch after saying he didn't want anything! Wasn't long before he nipped round to get his own!
I don't know why so many haters of this place . we Had great food and friendly service. Food cooked to order, so nice and fresh. Okay if you eat in...we didn't there's a charge of 50p each but your charged more than that at Costa Coffee by far to eat in. Recommended
It is a family run business, the advice I would give is to ring ahead otherwise you may be waiting. They do not cook in beef fat either which is great for the veggie in the family. Keep the small businesses going, and use this one.

So helpful and lovely food.
Food was plentiful, flavoursome and decently priced.
Lady behind counter saw I we needed extra forks n sauce and brought them over, Its the little things that make a difference!
Lovely fresh food ( be prepared to wait)- thoroughly enjoyed them. Don't be put off by the less than glamorous shop - all clean and delicious.
