Decicded to make a stop a the nearby pub from the trainstop after a day out with the family. Went in for a few drinks and some food and was absolutely pleased with the service and warm welcome. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

We love going out for Roast Dinners....however it is sometimes a pain to know where to go... and I’ve had loads of rubbish roasts around our city! You need to head to the Station! It has comfortable surroundings, and all the staff are lovely and attentive! The roast is mouth watering comes with cauliflower and the roast potatoes are crunchy!! It will leave you wanting to lick the plate! Book a table ASAP!

My partner and I visited last night and tried the new menu, we had the monk fish and venison loin, both of which were superb. We followed this with the apple crumble and an interesting cheeseboard with jam. These were delicious. This pub is an absolute gem. The landlords and staff are all friendly and welcoming and the surroundings comfortable. The wine list is comprehensive and well chosen. I would give it ten stars if I could, absolutely faultless.

We met here for an annual re-union, we were very impressed not only by the warm welcome but also by the service, the beer and the food. We would thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone . It is a place transformed.

I come here all the time but I’m just reiterating appreciation for this lovely pub, top notch food, service and ambience and always consistently worth every penny. Staggered that anyone would rate this place lower for any aspect and I have been before wilt vegans who were highly satisfied. Also great for gluten free. Do not listen to the random hater!

This is my third visit for lunch over the last month or so and the fifth for my partner who has also taken his family and work colleagues for supper recently. Each visit has been perfect, from the friendly, proactive host and staff to the exquisite dishes served. I imagine a Harry Potter type affair going on in the kitchen as everything that comes out is magical. The pork belly starter is to die for, not mean in portion but light and very tasty. The Harvey's beer battered cod and chips would be the last thing I would usually order as a pub dish but I confidently went for it and trust me, it was light and fluffy with large white flakes of fish, perfect crispy chunky chips and a tartare sauce which definitely didn't come out of a jar. The menu is not massive but changes regularly which I like and always regard as a very positive sign of a professional kitchen. A special mention for Steve and his team who make you feel like you're the only person in the pub. As an example I met my partner in there who was busy chatting to a friend when I arrived, within a few moments the barman came over to our table to take my drink order as he noticed my other half was caught up in conversation. Attention to every tiny detail for a truly pleasurable experience.

If we want a special meal this challenges the best restaurants in central Brighton. So we've bcome lazy. Plus, the real ale is as good as the best kept you will find anywhere. If you visited this place before Steve and Vicky took over in 2018 you will not believe the difference. We can't!!

We visited The Station after receiving a number of positive recommendations and it didn’t disappoint - our three course meal was excellent (as was the menu). Great ambience and setting and charming staff.

We had our 'girls' christmas meal here last night. The food was fabulous. I had the venison which was cooked to perfection. Steve and Victoria are wonderful hosts and and I would recommend this pub to anyone wanting great food at a very reasonable price. Thank you.

Satisfying food, good ales. Very glad to have this is as a pub near to my area. What more local pubs should aim to be.

We went here for a family party Sunday lunch. It was yum. Really great food especially the cauliflower cheese. I tried the new vegetarian nut roast which is a real treat. Would still recommend this lovely pub with super food and friendly staff.

Sadly, this has to be the most disappointing “vegan roast” ever. We phoned beforehand to check if they could do a vegan roast and was assured they could. After a 30 min wait, we were served a plate of vegetables, which are normally the accompaniment. No protein, no sauces or even pickles, no explanation. My husband did complain when he went to pay. £1 was taken of the price (the vegetarian nut roast was £11, ours was discounted to £10). I would not have accepted that price, but unfortunately he had paid. Oh well, you live and learn. Vegans are obviously not catered for at this place. Wish they had told us this before we went.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime . The menu is short but we always think that’s a good thing. Menu wasn’t as shown on the web site but no matter,as both the mains and sweet ( and the beer) were great. Had Suffolk Chicken which must say was one of, if not the best, chicken meal ever. Just all round delicious . Apple crumble is one of my favourites and The Station’s didn’t disappoint, really good. If it wasn’t a three hour drive I’d be a frequent visitor, highly recommended!

Haven't been for a while and wish we had as the food was amazing. Sat by the fire, service really friendly. l had turbot which was cooked perfectly and my partner had the venison burger perfectly cooked. We will be back soon.

Firstly the good bits, of which there were many. Lovely welcoming staff, great looking cosy pub, not too pricey and good location. We were there for Sunday roast (which we’d heard loads of good things about)... but... is fab unless you’re a vegetarian. Sadly for us upon ordering the Vegetarian option listed on the menu, we were told its is literally everything on the meat roast offering, minus the meat. So a plate of vegetables. Don’t get me wrong, these vegetables are beautifully cooked and taste lovely, but as a vegetarian you’re still left feeling you’re missing out in a big way! However they said we could pay £3 for a chunk of halloumi cheese as an extra (which we went for as we’re luckily not vegan and had a pint already and knew a plate of veg wasn’t going to cut it) but still... a cheese roast anyone? Not fantastically appealing. So this isn’t a straight-forward moan. This is a plea to the (obviously very talented and capable) chef at The Station. Please offer a decent vegetarian roast option. This is Brighton ffs, the city is teeming with non meat eaters. We don’t mind paying the extra. Your food is great but by listing a vegetarian roast on a menu but upon ordering told it’s a roast dinner minus the main bit, is... quite frankly, taking the peas.

Went for Sunday roast with friends as I’d been before and the food is so good. The food didn’t disappoint as usual. The only thing was that there was one vegetarian in our party and there was no veggie meat alternative with his roast, it was just vegetables and Yorkshire pudding with gravy, no nut roast or anything which I thought wasn’t very good. The desserts were to die for and service good as usual

Absolutely love our local! Steve and Vicky are the best. I dropped my elderly father off at the beer crèche. He was looked after like royalty. They always welcome us like old friends. Food really amazing. Right next to Preston Park station.

One of the nicest and friendliest pubs around! The food is exceptional! And I’ve been told the Sunday roast is the best around! Looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you

Had 20 minutes to kill before my train and some how the barman managed to sort me a quality home made burger and get me 20 percent charge on my phone. Barman's a top fella (forgot your name pal sorry) and I was generally very impressed
