Baykers Of Brighton

Always been a fan of this unpretentious little cafe but I think the wheels are falling off. Hope not, but I have noticed the food does not look fresh and my wife and friends experience proved that to be true over a variety of products. The rule with cafe display food used to be at the end of the day most food was thrown out expect for long life cakes that were well packaged. This in turn led to thought being put into what was displayed on a given day.

I ordered a chicken wrap and was served a tuna wrap instead. I didn't really mind having tuna instead so didn't say anything. When I ate it it tasted like it had been sitting there for a few days. The bread of the wrap was starting to go hard and stale and the tuna tasted old. I had to leave it as it tasted close to going off. Will definitely not be returning.

Fab coffees at $3 is not the only reason to visit this place. The latest (and best) bakery / cafe on Martin Street with an assortment of pastries, pies cakes and freshly made toasties for $6. My kids loved their birthday cakes - my son designed his own cake and it was AMAZING! Friends were so jealous ;) Can't recommend this place anymore - try it yourself !

When you walk in with literally 10 minutes to catch your train for a simple takeaway coffee with nobody else waiting ahead of you, and you end up having to snatch it out of the Barista's hand and make a wild dash to catch it because of all the messing around. Personal chit chat, confusion over my order between the 2 staff (I was almost out the door when they realised they hadn't put the sugar in), and no sense of urgency or priority. I know it's New Year's Day but if you're gonna bother opening at all then please do it properly.... The coffee itself was okay, but definitely not worth the wait and the stress.

I went today to this bakery to buy a few pastries and it wasn´t a good experience. The back of the counter was dirty with coffee everywhere and after 5 minutes waiting when I ask for 2 donuts, the lady who works there tell me before serving me: "Ok, but it cost 2 dollars each" I think is is a bit weird and rude considering I didn´t ask for the price, just ask for 2 donuts. It sounds like she thought I haven´t cash enought to pay for this. We recently move to the neighbourhood and we love it. But definetly we never gonna come back to this bakery, there´s better alternatives in the area. Thanks

Strong mocha was extremely disappointing; weak, watery and almost tasteless. Ordered half a falafel wrap which was minuscule on top of looking/tasting like it had been on display for a few days; stale and dry. I've been to Baykers a few times and it seems to be very hit and miss with the quality of what is served.

I drove past this place on my way to 7-11 to get myself a cheap coffee however this cafe stood out so I quickly stopped and parked and ran over to see what breads there are. I noticed that they didn't have much variety for breaky like mini bread rolls (but they do have other gourmet bread/sandwiches which looks good) so I opted for a ham cheese and tomato toastie and a coffee. Not only did they end up giving my coffee to the person who ordered AFTER me but they also gave me the saddest looking ham and cheese toastie. I was sad because it was only when I drove off that I noticed there was no tomato and I paid a whopping $6 for it. It was dry and I would've been more happier with a maccas ham and cheese toastie. I'm an easy person to please (espesh if I'm happy with 7-11 coffee and maccas toastie), and as a first time customer being it a Friday morning, my whole morning was ruined and am never likely to return.
