Growing up Rio's was the best fish and chip shop in town. Sadly over the last 15 years or so it gradually got worse and worse and became the worst in town.
I'm delighted to say that it now has new owners and the place is better than ever. The food is amazingly well priced and some deals are almost unbelievable. The food is simply delicious. The chips are the best I've ever tasted anywhere. The staff are polite, friendly and extremely helpful and always have a smile on their faces.
With cod and chips being well over £15 in most places now, these guys are doing a fantastic job offering two cod and chips with peas for £20 to takeaway. I paid £18.95 recently and mine here was equally as good and being an ex fisherman I appreciate how difficult it is to keep the prices down on cod these days.
Honestly the turn around in this place is so marked and I wish the new owners all the best and I look forward to my next visit. 10/10

What an amazing team here! Such an energetic buzz for a small restaurant, the young man cooking clearly enjoys his work and does a fantastic job. The cod was perfect. Probably the best I've had in Brixham it was really flavoursome and it's good to see Rio's selling Rio!! (rio the soft drink for those who don't know)

Fantastic service, I went in and asked for breaded fish cakes, the lads went out of there way, they even gave us to different ones and both were really good!!! Curry sauce has to be the best I've tried!!!! Chip where amazing, ill definitely be back on a regular basis. Thanks to the 2 lads in here, you made me and my daughter smile 😃

Came in today for a quick lunch while it rained! What an underrated little place! Great tasting cod, and the staff here do an amazing job at welcoming everyone and making sure that you leave happy. Thanks again

Food: Had chips that were fresh, tasted great.
Atmosphere: Didn’t sit inside as had a pushchair that looked like it couldn’t fit inside, there were three tables I believe for people to sit in and eat.
Service: Did seem to take a while to be served just chips in a takeaway box but the chips were fresh.

The service and quality of the food is excellent here. Everything is made to order so is super fresh and the staff can’t do enough to make sure you have what you want. Highly recommend dinning in or taking away from here. Jon the young manager runs his establishment superbly.

Pure perfection, best fish and chips of our lives. We tried one haddock and one cod. Five star service, and a great vibe inside the restaurant also. Staff are fantastic and made our day a lot better with their bright mood!

Coming from a seaside town with good chip shops and visiting Brixham with very high expectations of our trip we were not disappointed. We took two fussy eaters and they very much enjoyed your loaded chips. All the staff we met were very friendly and we felt very welcome. Thank you for your wonderful food and service
