Amazing food and lovely friendly staff! Would highly recommend you try this place.
One of the best places to get indian cuisine! Unfortunately one of the staff memeber(she) is a racist, it spoils the experience!
I always enjoy the authentic south indian cuisine here and whenever my parents visit, they'll ask to come here. Quite a few dishes are too spicy for my preferences so I order a curd rice or lassi to balance it out.
Slight negative, when I have ordered online and requested less spicy options, there doesn't seem to be any difference!
On this occasion we had the Kadai paneer, ceylon dosa, curd rice and plain dosa. The various accompanying chutneys and sambar are delicious too. We had enough to take home leftovers.
Service is quick, efficient. Prices seem reasonable for Cambridge.
Fantastic place to enjoy south Indian food!
We ordered plain Dosa, masala Dosa, ghee roast Dosa. All dishes along with Sambar are chutney were impeccably prepared. Could not ask for anything more.
Definitely recommended place for the south Indian food ! :)
We had also ordered Veg rolls for starters, which was okayish (maybe to our tastes)...
Also, I suggest to book a reservation in advance, especially on weekend evenings.
Authentic Indian cuisine. Warning: even the mild curries are very spicy.
Mango Lassie is the best I’ve ever had and the dishes were as good as Aunty Brenda. I’ve been eating Indian since I married a girl from Kolkata 35years ago - called Calcutta back then.
Fantastic food and great staff. All good food if you like to taste original South Indian cuisine. Speed of service is awesome and variety of food challenges to pick the favourite for a night where space in stomach limits to makes you visit frequently to try all to fall in love with it.
We came here curious to try this place and ended up very glad we did. It's definitely going to be a regular place going forward. The food was excellent, we liked every dish that we ordered and the service was great. We did a walk-in at 7 and by 7:30 it was practically full so probably a good idea to book as it's definitely a hit with the locals. For our starters we had Medu vada with rasam and chilli fried idlis both were very tasty. For the mains we had an authentic crispy masala dosa with a nice selection of chutney and sauces. Devilled kingfish which was amazing as I haven't seen kingfish on menus anywhere!. We had the curd rice as a side and for dessert we had the milk pudding and orange coloured dessert. The bill was very affordable too so we are pleased with this place and will definitely be coming back.
Super ambiance, nice service, tasty food and Tamil song in background
Bananaleaf has some of the best South Asian food I've had in the UK. The portion sizes are great, and the prices are reasonable (for Cambridge). The only bad thing about the place is that the restaurant is a bit small, so I'd recommend booking ahead of time.
The only better curry I've had was in India.
What can I say, just try it! Fair price, big quantity, if you like Indian, Sri Lanka and spicy food, this is a "must try". I've been here more times, always very very good!

Delicious South Indian food. Very authentic! If you can’t take spice this restaurant is probably not for you but if you like Indian food or want to try something new and different I highly recommend. Ramani provided excellent service and we will be back!
had a great time here with a couple of friends. it was busy so had a lively atmosphere.
the chicken 65, devilled potatoes and lamb fried rice were excellent
