Oysters Rockefeller are unique, creamy and one of the best I've ever had. Crab cakes on spinach was delish. Their fancy french onion soup was again one of the (again) best EVER! Impeccable service with a staff that knew what we wanted before we even asked. The flourless cake for dessert came out hot gooey and delicious served ala mode with vanilla bean ice cream - oh my gersh! This is the longest review I may have ever written but it's because our experience was so great at this place. We had young kids with us and again, our waitress just read the table and without us asking offered up exactly what by picky 8-year-old son ended up loving for his dinner which was pasta with butter and cheese (off the menu) - also incredible! My daughter had the salmon and said it was the best she's ever had. Cool vibe nice wine selection. place gets busier around 8:00 and is a really nice fun loud environment.

What a gem! Hubs and I split a few things (we always want to try as many things as possible) and got the goat cheese salad, duck confit, fried oysters and salmon. Everything was perfectly prepared. Great wine list and extremely friendly and knowledgeable service. My only regret is not saving room for dessert!

Nice atmosphere and attentive service. The menu varies. Duck leg confitt was dry and very salty. Pass on the very expensive crab cakes, full of filler for 2 4oz crab cakes $48.00

So my wife and I were in town for a long weekend to celebrate our first year anniversary. We need a dinner a few nights including one on our anniversary date. We found the bistro on Saturday night..... we were so well treated and so happy with the food that we wound up returning Sunday night and also ordering a meal to take with us back to the hotel to eat on Monday night for our anniversary due to the restaurant being closed. The food was amazing, the service was wonderful. We were treated just like family in a very elegant and casual way which we both very much appreciated. I highly recommend you check this place out and doubt very much you will be disappointed.

This might be the best dining experience I've ever had! I'm not overstating this. My wife and I ordered 6 items from the menu and they were all absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic (thanks Natalie) and the food was superb (thanks Colleen)! Everything exceeded our wildest expectations.

Wonderful restaurant, great service. Fried oysters were absolutely delicious. Steak frites … amazing, with an abundance of frites. Great choice for dinner in Cambridge.

What a delightful surprise! My wife and I were encouraged to try this Cambridge French restaurant by a person with local history, and we made a Sunday evening reservation with a bit of skepticism, having been spoiled by French cuisine in France and major cities around the world. First, we have to shout out Tanner, our server, who quickly put us at ease given that the pandemic and time of year left us as the sole customers as the evening began. He turned out to be a very bright part of the experience. Second, the wine suggestion, the entrees (lamb shank and pork loin), and the dessert combined for an outstanding culinary experience. As a gluten free diner, I have limited options, but the classic vanilla bean creme brulee was oddly one of the best I have had since my last trip to Paris. We would have never guessed that Cambridge would have such a fine option, and are so glad we were recommended to try it -- we would easily have missed it as they are only open now for weekends. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, and hope to get back soon. We heartily recommend Bistro Poplar and Tanner as enthusiastically as we possibly can.

Uh hello. This is the finest dining in MD. No BS. Pate a lil too French for me but really truly awesome food. Kudos to the chef and staff. I think I shall move closer to here. Had to amend my review. Honestly, Ive been a lot of places. The food, the food the food is great. The service not so much. Reduced from 5 to 4 because of the service. I am not cavalier with 5s. The food 5. The service 3. You want more than 3-4 stars then earn it. You did not on my visit. You disagree than earn it next time. Otherwise wallow in it.
