We've spent only 1 night there but I've loved the hotel. They gave us a massive room, very cosy and clean, and the food was excellent. I would definitely come back

It's a spoons. Quite a big one, with lots of students so the atmosphere is pretty lively if that's your thing! Good: Cheap Plenty of tables App ordering Good range of drinks (including alcohol free) WiFi Unlimited coffee refills Unique carpet Bad: Sticky tables Noisy (could do with some sound dampening) Little in terms of atmosphere Food is so so (good range though)

We had 5 delicious meals, 2 drinks each and sides for £65. Lovely food, staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was good. The decor and layout is good, in keeping with Canterbury itself. We really enjoyed our meal and had a great time, would definitely recommend and visit again.

The room was very spacious and a good value for the money. My room had an automatic sky light! My only complaint is that they did not have a single low/no alcohol on tap! They did have a few bottled options. But fresh from the tap is always better.

We unfortunately picked the wrong night to go out as it was A level results night and got packed. Couldn't fault the service,we took advantage of the excellent app...and ordered from the table. Food was good 👍 f not amazing but great value. Would I go again.... definitely...but not on A level results night

Typical Spoons value in a tourist area. Not pretentious. Staff friendly. Beer selection not as good as expected. No local beers but enjoyed it Cornish brew. Enjoyed fish and chips. Service was quick. Good old Spoons!!

The top end of the spoons experience. Having previously stayed here as well, I remember the rooms to be clean and contemporary. Even though the ground floor bar is extremely popular, it's usually full of good-natured locals just having a good time! For a more quiet and subdued private drink, we have always found a table on the first floor. Food is as you'd expect, but it comes with a smile as staff are pleasant. Far more than most places offering table service.

Went for a quick breakfast. Ordered at the table using QR code, which we now see as very convenient and use a lot. They brought us our food- full English breakfast- and the mugs for coffee at the same time. We had to leave our food and go and get our coffees at the far end of the restaurant. As a result we had our breakfast rather cold, which we don’t particularly like. You’d expect your coffee mugs to be given to you before you get your cooked breakfast. The mushrooms were really old and the beans were under the hash browns, which made hash browns really soggy. Not the best experience of a full English breakfast we as foreigners were hoping for.
