Fantastic intimate dining experience with authentic Japanese food! Came in with a group of 4 on a Saturday night, BYOd some wine and ordered some snacky pieces and 4 mains. Food doesn't come in any particular order or at the same time but that's clearly signposted on the menu. Every dish was fresh and delicious, the ramen being a particular standout. Would definitely come back to try a different broth!

Came today for lunch. Knowing they have Red Sea Urchin on offer, I just had to order them.
Sourced from Tasmania, Sea Urchin is rare to come by and Bon gets them in daily from their suppliers. They taste distinctly different from your usual white sea urchin with a stronger sea water taste, if you have had BC/Hokkaido Sea Urchin before, you know what I’m talking about.
I was surprised by how fresh they were, and how generous the portions presented.
We also ordered both Soy/Salt Ramen, which are limited to 10 bowls a day and must say it is my top 3 in Sydney. Hand rolled BBQ Pork that melts in your mouth, sweet half boiled egg, and a homemade broth from scratch is clearly the winner comparing to a lot of places using pre-made mix packs.
This has transformed my impression of Bon comparing to my previous visits, keep it up Takumi and Miki!

The food has a very authentic home cooked feel to it. My understanding is that it's literally a mom and pop in the kitchen cooking everything... When you place your order, all of your food comes out at once . So tables seem to be served on a first come first served basis. I would have given it 5 stars but at the time there was only one unfortunate waitress who was serving the entire place, so service was a bit slow.. she tried her best.

One of the few authentic Japanese restaurants outside of the CBD and north shore suburbs, this small establishment serves up a good menu of typical Japanese dishes.
We tried the following dishes:
- yakisoba that was tasty but a tad salty for us
- katsu don that was amazing, super crunchy fried chicken with perfect amount of batter, served with a special sauce that is quite unique
- spicy tuna sushi roll that is tasty but prone to break apart.
Overall, it was a positive experience even though service was minimal and the food was very home-style.

Our family came here on a cold night hoping to warm up with some ramen and udon noodles - we weren't disappointed! The tonatsu ramen was exceptionally tasty with superb depth of flavour. The Wagyu beef udon noodles was darker and thicker than other udon we have had but was bursting with flavour. The ceviche salad was fresh and zesty. We will definitely be back!

Delicious food and friendly staff. The karaage chicken was crunchy and moist, the gyudon had a great bbq taste and the ramen broth was superb. The service however was slow. Booking is essential to lessen the time on table waiting. Would definitely come back.

We had pork gyoza for entrée(house made) which were good. I had the miso tonkotsu ramen. Generous with the toppings chasiu was generous right thickness thender and flavors are spot on, noodles are thin and chewy(just the way i like it), the egg was perfect runny and gooey yolk, and for the main component of the bowl the broth was not thick but a full flavor and packed with umami, very nice velvety mouth feel and you can really experience the sticky feel on your lips because of the collagen in the broth (just a simple amazing bowl). My wife had the shoyu chicken broth(its their specials). Same toppings the noodles are medium bit curly chewy, and the broth is also packed with full chicken flavor (in a good way) and so light also a good bowl. I was worried the bowl won't be enough for me as i always order extra noodles with my ramen and i was wrong it was more than enough for me a generous serving. And end the meal with their home made matcha cheese cake also so good. Meals are a bit on the expensive side but its worth it. Yes service was not great as it was only the couple working on the shop(understandably). piece of advice that's why come in early as possible and book as early as possible.

This place is great if you want authentic Japanese food at a reasonable price. We ordered some entrees to share and the ramen. The interesting thing is that the tonkotsu ramen is limited to one per table.
Definitely make a booking as it is small restaurant and when we went in on a Thursday night they were turning people away.
The staff is super busy which means the service is a little poor. We had trouble getting the attention of the staff to clear our table or refill the water.
