We eat out a lot and are always generally disappointed with a lot of restaurants. The food here is always good and the owner has a genuine love of serving good food. A great restaurant imo and good prices.

Stopped by Jalan Malaysia for lunch during my business trip to Cardiff. I ordered nasi lemak with lamb shank (picture). Never know these two would make a great fusion dish. Super delicious. Most probably the best nasi lemak I've ever had in Europe. I wish they could provide the sambal maybe just a dollop more. The chicken wings are nicely seasoned and fried. Top notch.

Dropped by for Nasi Lemak after 6 days of Fish & Chips. I must say the Nasi Lemak ayam goreng kunyit has class. Just like Village Park Uptown. Dead drop delicious...🤪🤪🤪 Tips: don't order chicken wings if you're having this selection. I thought they should take a bold step and change the shop's name to The Nasi Lemak!!! 😂😂😂

Good value, laid back Malaysian restaurant right in the heart of Cardiff's friendly student land. Parking is available in street outside the restaurant after 6.30 (and before 8am) or in the surrounding area (Cathays). Serves Malaysian street food - a variety of small bites to start or as side dishes and main courses of Nasi Lemuk - coconut infused rice with hard boiled egg, slices of cool cucumber and a small spoonful of fried anchovies, peanuts and chilli sambal. We didn't try the desserts or hot drinks (e.g. hot chocolate). The food was distinctive and tasty and felt as if it had been cooked and prepared with care. Chilli ratings are available on the menu for the Nasi Lemuk dishes. I have noticed that some reviews report the food to be too spicy but we all loved the tasty mixture of spices and flavourings and didn't find them too hot. Between our party of 4 we had two chicken rendangs and two turmeric chickens with a portion of chicken wings - plus 2 beers and 4 diet cokes. The total cost was £53. They also do takeaway orders which can be delivered by deliveroo. It was very busy on the Saturday night we visited with what looked like family and friends groups. We all agreed we would definitely visit again to try the rest of the menu.

Love this place!! Takes me back with its very authentic flavours. Malaysian food is such a perfect fusion of Asian fragrance with Indian influences and depth. If you haven't tried it...do it!! You might just surprise yourself.

Authentic Malaysian Nasi Lemak Cooked With Lots Of Passion And Attention To Details! If you are into food from the far east, and food with lots of spices & sambal, this is the place for you. If you want a taste of Malaysia/Singapore, come here. If you misses home Singapore/Malaysia (like me), the food will bring you sweet (palate-wise) memories of home. My wife and I loves the Turmeric Fried Chicken + Rendang Beef/Chicken... Try them!!
