Ate at Mirchi a couple of years back but at that time the food wasnt what he hoped. Thought we'd try it out again this Ramadan especially with the greatly valued buffet. And I have to say we haven't had food this good in years. Excellent food. Not one dish to complain about in the Iftar buffet. Will definitely be going down again and again and again...!
Came here for my daughters 21st birthday, with the family had a lovely meal. The food is better than some places in Southall in London, got served by a lovely lady, would recommend the family platter, delicious, and also loved our curries, daughter enjoyed it as well, as blowing out her cake, so thats all that matters, could be back for my boys birthday.
There is a multi-award winning restaurant in Cardiff that has to be at the top of the list for those who enjoy authentic Indo-Pakistani cuisine.
Located on the busy stretch of City Road, Mirchi is a large and vibrant 130-cover curry house that has been serving its community in more ways than one for 13 years now.
The fact that it added to its tally of awards by winning the prestigious Welsh Asian Food Awards ‘Curry Restaurant of the Year’ in Cardiff last year speaks volumes of its commitment and endeavour.
HALAL STATUS: Fully Halal
In absolutely love with their food and the staff is also very friendly and nicer. Thanks to “Mirchi” for it’s delicious and mouth-watering recipes. Will visit again and again and again as always❤️
“I recently dined at Mirchi Restaurant and my dinning experience was truly exceptional thoroughly impressed by both the exquisite cuisine and the impeccable service. From the moment we entered, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff made us feel right at home. The menu showcased a variety of innovative dishes, blending bold flavour’s, each expertly crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every bite was a culinary delight and beautiful. Food was very delicious and we also got complimentary papadam and sauces which were amazing. The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensured that our meal was a memorable one, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring our satisfaction. Such a warm and welcoming environment. Highly recommended!
The food was ok. Chicken Kadai was OK. Nan exceeded expectations. I found myself in a very uncomfortable situation when prayer started inside the restaurant. I was next to the prayer area and could not understand what I should do. Was a bit confused for a few minutes. The staff is lovely. Helpful.
Very nice warm welcome as soon as I stepped foot inside the modern, clean, restaurant. There was lots of space as I looked around, separate spaces for couples family’s parties etc. I was asked at one point how my meal was, I ordered the biryani and t.dhall. The food was amazingly delicious. Nice and light but could taste all the aromatic spices. The lamb used was of quality to say the least. Really enjoyed all the food as did my daughter. Will definitely go back with extended family next time.
One of the best Pakistani/Indian restaurants me and my husband have been to.
They were so accommodating & friendly. The complementary popadoms & curry sauce were a nice touch to the service.
Not overly spiced and cooked to perfection.
My family and I went to the Mirchi restaurant.
Every visit is a genuine pleasure because to the welcoming atmosphere and the attentive employees. For appetisers, we got mix grill and fish tikka, both of which were delicious. The waiter advised we try the Lahori Lamb Karahi, which is lamb on the bone, and it was fantastic. The curry had fresh ginger and coriander on top, which brought out the flavour of the karahi. And also we ordered Sindhi chicken biryani which was tasty as well . Very nice place and delicious and fresh food.
Great place on City Road to try traditional Pakistani cuisine. Been coming here a number of years now, always opting for either the mixed platter or lamb karahi. Service can be slow on times, as this place gets super busy!
A glass of mango lassi goes down well with every meal - keep in mind this is a dry restaurant.
Order :
Half Lahori Murgh Karahi
Fried Egg Rice
Portion of Fries
Naan x 3
2 drinks
Total - aprx £22
The Karahi was delicious, full of flavour and perfect for us as we don’t prefer too much spices. ( they do have spice levels if you prefer more we selected Mild )
Coming from Solihull ( Birmingham ), we didn’t expect the food to be very impressive but it was, and we loved it.
- Food was priced fairly
- Service could be slightly improved ( not that it was bad but it was on the slower side even though it wasn’t busy )
- Food quality was good
*Tip to the management : a waiter/staff member coming the table once the food has been served just to ask how it all is and if there’s anything extra required makes a huge difference on the first impression a guest gets while visiting a restaurant
My first time here and wow the food is gorgeous, quick service and food didn't take that long. Will definitely be back and I recommended this restaurant.
