Great food, ambience and service. Also good kids menu and dog friendly. I've seen it drastically improve in the 12 years I've lived in the village. Well worth a visit and great pub too.

Had a lovely meal I've worked in a french kitchen for several years and in alot of other places too as a head chef. So I'm not hard to please but the food here was great seasoned well cooked well and quickly prepared, only one small critical point the children's menu was too bland for my kids , but that's my kids . Great place will return when I'm next in the area.

First of all, yes it is smaller rooms, but they're extremely nice. Besides you're not there but just to sleep and clean up.... beautiful new bathroom with nice tile and shower. A beautiful old church that was bombed during WWII was yards 3 min. walk. Cardross golf course directly across the street. The bar is amazing, Declan was our bar tender and he did amazing, was extremely polite and knowledgeable about what we should go see and do. The locals that frequent the tavern also were extremely nice as well! Rob and Dave helped us out on things to also do and see. The assistant manager Steve (Roy Kent's Brother) helped us check in, offered to carry stuff upstairs, walked us to our room and even waited on us for dinner! Which dinner was amazing!!! Michael, the manager was everywhere all the time, he was super polite from the second we walked in (I actually didn't know he was even the manager until later!) Overall a 10/10! We traveled as a younger couple with our 2 year old daughter. The room was perfect and cheap and was just overall nice and cozy! We will definitely stay again one day!!

We sat in the pub, had dinner here, stayed the night in the hotel and we had breakfast the next morning; we were happy about it all. Restaurant: Very nice ambiance, kind staff and nice food. Pub: Cosy, nice beers and cocktails. The cocktails however were quite expensive. Hotel & breakfast: The room was small, but the bed was quite big. The bathroom was quite new and very pretty. The room and bathroom were clean and cosy. The breakfast was very good and sufficient for sure; we both had an full Scottish breakfast and we surely enjoyed it!

Monday Overnight stay. Room on the smallish side, no problem if your solo. Big bath with hand-held shower. Good beer selection, good breakfast, and service to match. The location is good, easy to find on the main road in the village.

Absolutely amazing food and service. Staff are super friendly and personable. Can imagine the rooms are equally top notch but being a local it’s non applicable. The steak pie is a definite MUST!!

Was here for a funeral tea, very clean premises, good food and very attentive staff. Very small car park but there is parking available nearby.

This is my village pub. I come here maybe once or twice a week. The people who work here and the people who drink here are super, and the sport is always on, and the place is generally comfortable and pleasant to be in. Food has improved markedly over the past few weeks, although the drinks options are still a bit pants. Everything on the wine list is revolting. As a person who will drink pretty much whatever you put in front of me, I find it quite hard to decide which will be least unpalatable. If they were selling bad wine at £5 a glass it would be one thing, but charging nearly a tenner for undrinkable wine is not fab. The beers on tap are okay although a decent cask ale would be welcome; my husband says the Guinness is good. I like this pub; I will continue to spend money here; I can see that they are making efforts to improve the food.
