Good beer, good staff, good friendly atmosphere, good quiz on Wednesdays, good bagatelle table, good music. Voted 'Champion pub of Cheshire' by CAMRA members. Worthy winner.

Great pub, highly recommend. One of the few pubs in Chester that still has the traditions and character of a proper old fashioned boozer: dart board, live fire, great cask ale. If you're in Chester and you like pubs this place is a must

It's my go to local and favourite pub in Chester. No food, a proper "wet pub" Nice coal fire in the winter.

Wonderful traditional pub close to the bus station. Great beer, great prices, friendly staff, and a pubcat, though he wasn't about when we visited.

First time in here and what a nice surprise. Good selection of ales, very knowledgeable staff and just a good feel about the place. Rustic and cosy, just the place to spend a cold Saturday afternoon
