Phatso's Bakery

This was formally Ann’s bakery and they’ve always been known for wonderful delicious donuts and pastries. I think the new owners have really turned up the heat and now deliver even more variety of baked goods including a delicious fritter and wonderful Ray’s glazed. You can get a cup of coffee here and some great donuts. This is a morning hang out they usually run out of donuts by 10 o’clock or noon depending on the day they open at six and I’m usually there by 6:10 AM. I enjoyed this local neighborhood hidden spot they probably make some of the best donuts in Philadelphia

Great donuts and friendly staff! I was very impressed. My experience on two separate days, one with a storm forecast and another a weekday morning, was a line of a few people. And the selection was slim early in the day. I loved the bow ties and the apple fritter. My cinnamon roll was awesome! Well worth waiting for even in freezing cold weather. I hear they do advance orders. But i can't speak to that experience. Luckily I live close enough to take my chances.

Donuts are fresh and taste good. They seemingly changed the hours to stay open an extra 2 or 3 hours later. But the donuts are very overpriced and that is something no one is mentioning! I bought a glazed and a coffee roll and it came to over $5. And they were the same size you would get at Giants and Shoprite. It is a Black owned business but they are almost pushing younger customers from coming back due to how overpriced they are. Donuts should be no more than a $1 and Coffee Roll should be no more than $2. The businesses need to realize the stuff they don't sale is money and food wasted. I would have purchased more if they weren't so expensive for what you're getting.
