The Highwayman Beefeater

Excellent dining experience, even though we chose a busy time to eat Dylan still found us a table and kept checking on us while we waited for food. Ten out of ten for customer services. Meals were delicious and good value. Plenty of parking with lots of disabled spaces. Restaurant spotless. Really enjoyed our visit today.

The recent flooding all around Chesterfield / Bakewell area left us stranded on Friday night, together with quite a few other motorists ( we were the lucky ones, having a caravan meant we got a good night's sleep in the car park ). The staff at the Beefeater were really welcoming and helpful, even though they themselves were struggling to get in and out of work and felt like they were running a refugee centre. I'd just like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone there , we really appreciated your kindness.

Kim went absolutely above and beyond in helping us manage allergies. Our allergy is rare (so not listed in allergens) but severe but she triple checked everything and spotted something we overlooked! Thanks Kim. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and the food was well cooked and tasty. The biggest thing for us was being able to relax and feel safe.

We stayed in the Premier Inn next door so found the pub to be very convenient. Breakfast very good. Evening meal food was good all-be-it "pub chain food" There were various " deals running" which were rather complicated to follow for customer and the staff. Kyle was the stand out member of staff there, with a cheerful friendly manner and positive approach to customer service (whilst still looking to up sell where possible, but in a perfectly acceptable way) . The managers didn't take any opportunity to endear themselves, being rather "functional". On the whole, good value and keep flying the excellent service Kyle! Perhaps it will rub off on others.

Breakfast is excellent but the evening meal is basically chain food and we couldn't order what we wanted because they had ran out of fillet steak and calamari. This meant both dishes that myself and my wife wanted were both off the menu! How does a steakhouse (the clue is in the name Beefeater) run out of steak?

Went for a 2-3 course meal with family. Despite having 10 of us, the service was friendly, fast and attentive. Food was good and cheap especially considering we used the Meal Deal provided by the Premier Inn next door. Overall a great dining experience considering the price. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in the hotel or passing by.
