We had a great family meal. The waitress was lovely. The menu was big but not too big. All of the food tasted really nice and the price was great too. I would definitely recommend going here for a nice relaxed meal with lots of choice. And friendly on the wallet. We had 7 mains and 6 deserts all with drinks for £135.

Honestly, you cannot beat this place. Hands down the best for food/service I have experienced in Colchester. Atmosphere is phenomenal, and I will be coming back annually with friends (as I unfortunately don't live here, otherwise I'd be here everyday!)
Additionally, the food is very well priced. Feels too good to be true but it is real! Highly recommended 👍

Really lovely and welcoming staff. A lively and fun atmosphere. The food was unbelievable for the price and the portions were so generous. We had two mains, two cocktails and a shared starter and it came to £30. We will definitely be going back.

We love the Rovers Tye. My fiancee and I have eaten here on a number of occasions, and can honestly say never had a bad meal. The chef does well coping even during the busy times. The staff look after you extremely well, they are always smiling, always ask is everything ok with your meal. Nothing is any bother, for them if you go away disappointed, I would be surprised. Called in for lunch today had not been in for a while. I must write a review, the service was fantastic, we were not hurried and there was enough time between courses. Staff were friendly and professional. The meal itself was just amazing and such good value for money, relaxed environment and very clean. I would highly recommend it. Will definitely make time to make it a regular!!

There where 4 adults and 2 children came for dinner, we had a selection of starters mains and dessert. The desserts where incredible as where the starters, the mains where ok, the steaks unfortunately let the meals down as there where all very very chewy and fatty, we had rump and sirloin but they where just not good quality at all. The service was brilliant, the staff where very kind , helpful and promp. The kids enjoyed it but I don't think we would come back just because of the low quality food. Sorry guys
