Called in for tea last night. I can highly recommend the fish and chips, the food we had was exellelent. The waiting on staff were very polite. We will be recommending to family and friends. Thank you to all the staff. See you again soon.
Visited the Egerton Arms and noticed that the pub had recently had a change of management. We were greeted by friendly, attentive staff and during our visit nothing was too much trouble. There was a wide and varied menu for the restaurant and also a great choice of bar snacks available. My husband assures me there was a good selection of ale available as well. We cannot wait to return and will definitely be recommending this pub to friends and family. Keep up the good work!
My family eat at this pub often. We are even booked in here for Christmas Day lunch this year!
It is a charming pub, with friendly staff, that serve good pub grub!
However on this particular Sunday it was rammed to the rafters, the service was slower than normal, and at 2pm on a Sunday they had run out of pate! Probably just a hiccup on a very busy Sunday.
I would still recommend this pub, and my brother will eventually get over not having his desired starter!
A pleasure to stay here and easy to recommend.
The staff are truly lovely and always cheerful, professional and happy to help.
The rooms are spacious and well appointed.
The food is fantastic and has some real stand out dishes. Certainly better than most similar style pubs/inns. Fair prices given the quality.
Noted that the owners have recently been adding to the decor and making it even more homely.
I look forward to future stays.
Lovely country pub. Hotel room was very nice if a little on the small side. Got very warm in the recent heatwave but plenty of outdoor seating in the shade and the landlord was happy for us to stay sat out after they had closed up. They do close the bar surprisingly early though (around 10pm on a Saturday night) so worth remembering if you were hoping for a night cap. Breakfast was very good and cooked to order. Pleasant staff with food service and really helpful. We enjoyed our stay Thank you.
Had a lovely Sunday roast dinner here. Absolutely gorgeous. However service was a bit chaotic and disorganised. Sat at table for 20 minutes waiting to place our drink order. When drinks finally arrived meal literally came out less than 5 minutes later. Hopefully just a one off. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again but maybe not on a Sunday.
We called in here after visiting Castaway Play. The food looked good online and it seemed to have a country pub look and feel to it.
Our initial reactions were that the service was awful. Our waitress was unpleasant and never came back to take our order (we had to go and ask to order). They slightly improved but we felt like everything was too much trouble.
Oh the flip side, the food and drink were extremely good. We had the pie of the day. Really good portion sizes and it tasted truly home cooked.
I tried some of our sons pizza, that was also really good. Dough tasted home made along with the sauce.
Overall we would go back. I think the service was a blip. And the food was worth it
Very busy but staff were calm and apologised for slow service .
Food good and generous portions
Loo very clean .
Bitter shandy cool on a very hot day
Can accommodate seating for family of 7 comfortably if you book .
Went here for Sunday lunch with my family, was really good. Vegetarian option was ok, although beetroot felt like an odd choice. Yorkshire pudding and gravy very good. Berry crumble also good.
Food was good, staff were attentive, polite and helpful. Would recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to celebrate.
Had a family meal it was delicious & plenty of food 😋 great service , will definitely be going again.
A very nice pub in a great setting near to a lovely church. Called in one evening for a quick pint. Moretti £6.50 a pint 😮. I was gob smacked.
I won't be calling again ☹️
