The Chateau

I have been with friends a few times. The vege options were lovely 'a la carte' and the 'set' menu but 2 of our group had the beef which they found a bit tough/fatty. I enjoyed the olives, houmous, tzatziki and pitta followed by aubergine curry it said with naan, but was really more pitta which I didn't mind too much. They all enjoyed different desserts.. I had a coffee. The wine list was not available as it was v small.. but we were happy with the first one. It wasn't very busy Sunday lunchtime.. so I think there have been some changes obvs since before covid. I love the white cloth and napkins so it feels smart but my friend commented that the waiters needed to be smart too. They have stopped the Sunday carvery but the Set menu is quite good. I felt the a la carte was better if you want more options.

I decided to give a try to go out as to try another restaurant. I was not disappointed.. The food is just top class and not to mention the service.. Top service, with friendly staff. Very polite staff. The guy, I think he was the Head man or. Something like that, he was so nice, as he gave us a good service and very communicative. The fillet stake was amazing by the way. Thanks again. We'll be back soon.

Great place. Odd selection of draft beer but good. Very tasty and well presented food. Whilst sitting in the drawing room with nice views and original features. In the bar area they have the original fireplace too which is a nice touch. Cloakroom looks as if it's an old toilet, doesn't take away from the fact it's useful and obviously have to utilise space but l would've at least tried to cover it up instead of having the cistern still on the wall and tiles everywhere. Great place came for a Christmas Party will go back for Sunday Carvery as I have heard great things and it will be the same quality and presentation i'd assume

It was for our works Xmas Dinner, the reason for my visit. I was greeted at the door which was a nice touch, and not something I would have expected. It has a nice old fashioned decor from what I could tell, and nothing felt out of place. I was directed upstairs so never got the opportunity to have a proper walk around, but it looked closed at this time. As there were 2 sperate parties the space was divided well, so although you saw the other group, it never really an issue. Service was good, and friendly, accommodating, and happy to interact, which can generally put a dampener on an occasion if the balance isn't right. But kudos where it's due. The team did a great job. Food was a different thing, I don't think any of the party I was with, particularly enjoyed the starter, including me, it was a bit bland, main course was probably the best meal, and it was very tasty, and cooked well, dessert was a bit his and miss, with some complaining that the chocolate cake had a mouldy taste to it. All in all, I would have no issue going back, for a different occasion.

I have been dining at The Chateau for a number of years now and cannot recommend the restaurant enough - the ambience is always fabulous. The menu is vast, so there is a choice for everyone. The staff have always been lovely and approachable - nothing is ever too much trouble. The actual grounds of the restaurant are beautiful as well, I really cannot rate it high enough!

Went here for lunch this afternoon, sea bass was beautiful, service was prompt, friendly and professional. Portion sizes great and a delicious sticky toffee pud and ice cream helped to put the bad weather out of our minds. Would definitely recommend as prices are very reasonable for what you get. We had the place to ourselves, which made for a romantic date, and they didn't get upset when we were lost in the moment and had out stayed our welcome, by 1 1/2 hours after closing.......sooooo sorry. Minus one star as the dining room we were in was a bit chilly. Will definitely be returning, when the weather warms up a bit👌👍👌👍
