Blue Jay By Marston's Inns

We stayed the night at the hotel opposite so The Blue Jay was perfect for dinner. There's a large car park so no problem parking. We received a warm welcome as soon as we entered. We checked in at the hotel reception that's inside the pub and then sat at a table. The menu is exactly what you want so plenty of choice and all reasonably priced. I went for scampi and chips which was tasty and my husband chose the mixed grill which was delicious too. We also enjoyed breakfast the following morning which was great. There's a continental option or full cooked options plus pancakes, etc. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Family occasion party of 7 taken immediate on entry to our table by attentive staff. Only downside table had residue from previous occupation and we had to find staff to clean it, this was done fairly promptly. Efficient and friendly service from all staff from ordering to service of food and drink. When we left a friendly goodbye was appreciated

Friendly staff and management, the staff give the impression that they are happy at work and that reflects in their service to customers. The food is good and reasonably priced, this is the place we come back to time and time again, when the girls from work want to catch up after work over dinner. Can’t fault anything here!

Wonderful service. A group of 30 odd of us stayed on the weekend of 24/25 June. Food service was incredibly punctual - especially considering our numbers. Food was lovely. Communication and service by all staff was impeccable. Alesha, Sammy, Danny, Alicia, Tracey, Gareth, Wayne, Sam. Great to see people taking such great pride in their work and putting the customer first. Rooms immaculate and air conditioning was a massive bonus. Grounds lovely too. We shall return. See you all soon.
