My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at "Tony's Fish Bar" before taking the ferry, and it was a delightful experience. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable. Not only did he assist us in finding an ATM when we were short on cash, but he also provided excellent service with a touch of humor. The portions were incredibly generous, and we particularly enjoyed the fried pineapple rings – a unique and tasty addition to the classic fish & chips. The prices were incredibly reasonable, making it an affordable and delicious meal. Conveniently, you can park at Aldi nearby, which makes it easily accessible. We highly recommend this spot to fellow tourists. "Tony's Fish Bar" is a must-visit in Dover. The owner's hospitality and the quality of the food make it a hidden gem. What this shop lacks in pizazz and showiness, it more than makes up with good straight quality fare. Large cod and chips was exactly that, but the stand out was the quality of the fish and its cooking. Excellent quality fish, in a thin coating that let the fish speak for itself, without any stodge whatsoever. Overall, very good value for what you get, and most importantly, no more shrugging at the end of a fish supper thinking “Oh well, should have been better.”
