My Gran and I go to the Three Horse Shoes every Saturday and never look to go anywhere else. The menu is varied, food cooked to liking and everyone is extremely friendly and always make you feel welcome. Can't recommend enough. (My Gran is 79 and difficult to impress yet she loves it and we still come back week after week)

Excellent stay. Comfortable room, I slept like a log. Initially concerned about nearby road noise, but this was not an issue at all. Staff during my stay were polite, friendly and attentive. Food is simply outstanding, arrived piping hot and is of high quality. Breakfast certainly set me up for the day. Decor in rooms could do with updating, but otherwise a great business and comes thoroughly recommended.

We found this pub by chance of passing on the way to Durham, so we decided to go there for something to eat. The pub looks really nice inside and out. Both my partner and myself really enjoyed the food. It was very well presented and tasted really nice. Everything was freshly made and not frozen, out of a packet or tin. The service was fantastic and fair priced as we only paid £26 for a main course sweet coffee and a pint each. Definitely worth a visit for lovely bar meal and we definitely we come again.

We've had two visits to the Three Horseshoes — both were really good. I had the Sunday roast such was good bit I have had better. The meat was excellent, the Yorkshire was a little tough (probably pre made and reheated). My daughter had the beef feathers — this was outstanding. Slow cooked beef on mash potatoes and gravy. I'll get that next time

One of the nicest places we've ever stayed. Roughly a ten minute drive from the beautiful city of Durham. Really, really welcoming staff who can't do enough for you. We barely heard the noise from the passing traffic even though the property is situated on a busy road, and our room was at the front of the property. Massive bed and overhead shower room - nothing to fault; bottled water replaced on a daily basis. We stayed for five nights, and ate at the property for three of them. Varied selection of main courses and desserts. I especially enjoyed the lamb & mint suet pudding (albeit this was on a specials board). Would wholeheartedly recommend The Three Horseshoes to anyone wishing to explore this wonderful part of the country.

What a fantastic pub. I had a nice pint of real ale to go with my dinner. I had the mussles in white wine sauce which was delicious. The staff were attentive and listened to our extensive requests (we were a table a of 9). Can't fault this place for delicious food.

Went for Sunday lunch. Luckily we went early as it got very busy later. Parking was OK for me, but later people were parking on the grass verges. The food was very good, and the portion size was more than good enough. The time we went, there was a choice of 4 meats all served with large Yorkshire Puddings and roasted veg.

This is a great find when looking for somewhere to stay near Durham. 10 mins by car to centre of City, the rooms were very comfortable with a proper shower (like home) which is always a bonus. The staff are very helpful, breakfast was fab and there were even a couple of guest ales for a nightcap at end of long day. I loved this place and will definitely be returning 😊

Myself and my husband had lunch here, I had the Chickpea and Spinach curry with rice and my husband had the Beef Ale Pie. I am a diabetic and there wasn't much choice on the menu for me, so the dish I chose was a little sparse and bland and I still felt hungry after, my husband's was lovely and he thoroughly enjoyed it with plenty on his plate, however the cost of the food makes this pub slightly pretentious. Thank You.

We visited the three horseshoes on Saturday evening for a family meal. We hadn't booked but got a table without any issues. The staff were really friendly and there are lots of food options available. It's very tasty food and good portion sizes. Lovely location with views over the countryside. We would definitely visit again.
