Best fish and chips I have tasted in a very long time, I was going to say best in the North East but that subjective, but definitely top 5. Batter stays crisp even ages after others go soggy. I really don't understand the negative reviews on here - people with vested interests perhaps? Bargain at the moment 2 for 1 on a large each Friday.

I've been here quite alot, I come down from work for lunch now and again and every single time it's perfect. More than I can say for bells. The lunch deals are awesome value too £4 for a good amount of chips and the small fish is a damn good size! Highly highly recommend! I don't understand why the score is as low as it is? Should be 5 all day long.

Got kids sausage meals and fish and chips for me and my wife. Had a bad experience from a lot of chippy's around Durham. Gave Freddies a try, all the meals delicious. Staff very friendly and keen to help. Freddies will definitely be my Fish n Chip shop of choice from now on.

Visit this fish shop every Friday along with my husband always a warm welcome from Denise and her staff on entering shop they always know what our order is ( two lightly batted haddock) ready in five minutes.never had a bad portion of fish and chips yet recommend this place for fish and chips without any hesitation. Always look forward to Friday
