Thank you for the lovely breakfast! I had the most delicious typical breakfast and I even got haggis - I had to try the owner said! :) The owner and his co-worker were both so kind! Great coffee too!

Wanted a real experience when visiting Edinburgh. This cafe is perfect. Small, quaint and the staff are great. The food is just what you need and the chef sings along to his music. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Excellent little shoppe to get a taste of the local flavor; both food and culture. Had a terrific Kate breakfast of the Hungry Tummy, which includes a good portion of all the Scottish favorites. The haggis was one of the best features of the dish, although the bacon was also excellent. Much more akin to small American country ham than the bacon we get stateside, and for me that's a huge bonus. Danny is friendly and exceptionally charming, and the conversation was warm and easy. While his shop is small, it's impressive that and his small staff can take care of everyone so efficiently while making them feel so welcome. Don't pass on this place. It's a stellar experience for a quick bite.

This is where the locals eat! Oldest cafe in Edinburgh, and it did not disappoint. Delicious Scottish breakfast, and the owner even threw in some free haggis for us to try (it's surprisingly delicious)! Much cheaper and better quality than all the newer places around it.

Absolutely lovely, chilled out staff! They welcomed my dog in too and fed him a plate of food that he licked clean❤️❤️ Jonathan, the chef, is very friendly, knowledgeable and makes people feel right at home by engaging with them personally. If you’re in Edinburgh and looking for an affordable greasy spoon to binge out on no-nonsense, good quality Scottish food, head to Quick and Plenty Café without a second thought🥰 (multiple vegetarian options available too🤩)

We came from London yesterday and had a delicious breakfast here. All 3 of us had never tried haggis and were pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! Very friendly service, the gentleman cooking the food gave us great information about the city and had a great sense of humour, would definitely go again

Traditional breakfast was delicious, the owner was very hospitable, and the place is tiny and cool. Johnny does it all, he takes your order, cooks and serves up your food, and does the dishes too. Don’t forget to try the brown sauce! Johnny had a friendly word for every customer, whether they were regulars or new. Some younger people walked in while we were eating, so he put on some music and turned it up “for the kids”. We loved the food and the whole vibe. But this little place is more than just cool, it’s an Edinburgh tradition - it’s been in the family for 100 years with Johnny now at the helm after his mom’s passing. Thanks for a great breakfast Johnny, and for a true and personal taste of Scotland!

Was a very authentic experience of good hearty cooking. Definitely helped us recover from a night of well fuelled fun. It is not the cleanest place but we did not mind! :) The owner is extremely nice and gave us free desserts. I recommend if you want a nice hearty Scottish breakfast.
